Are you passionate about providing legal advice to our indoor LEGO® play attractions?

Join the LEGO Group’s Legal, Compliance, and Risk (LCR) team and play an important role in protecting the LEGO® brand and products for builders of the future!

  • Reporting directly to the Legal Director APAC, you will serve as a key legal business partner for our LEGO/LEGOLAND Discovery Center attractions. This Corporate Counsel position is part of the wider China & APAC LCR team which supports our fast-paced, high-growth regional market groups.

  • This is an exciting in-house generalist role with a primary focus on supporting a broad range of legal matters related to our portfolio of LEGO/LEGOLAND Discovery Centres across the APAC region. Your role involves providing real-time legal solutions and frequent collaboration with other legal colleagues and relevant business teams to enable our attractions to deliver world-class experiences. The nature of providing legal support to the operation of attractions such as the LEGO/LEGOLAND Discovery Centres demands quick decision-making and rapid assessments, so agility is important.

  • Beyond the legal work required for the LEGO/LEGOLAND Discovery Centres, this role will also be expected to support legal matters as and when required for the broader APAC market group under the direction of the Legal Director APAC.

  • Strong partnering skills are also essential, as you will work directly with various business teams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary legal counsel and point of contact for LEGO/LEGOLAND Discovery Centres in APAC. You will manage a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and operational legal matters while also promoting the LEGO Group’s compliance agenda.

  • Partner directly with business stakeholders and LCR colleagues. In some cases, you will also serve as the main point of contact for a task towards business stakeholders, and in others you will support colleagues within LCR including the APAC LCR team.

  • Build strong professional networks and effective working relationships across the organization to ensure global consistency, compliance and proactive risk mitigation.

  • Support senior APAC LCR lawyers in reviewing and drafting a variety of commercial matters including contracts and providing legal advice on general matters for the broader APAC Market Group

       The core areas of focus will include:

  • Day-to-day legal support to the attractions: Support legal matters related to the operation of the LEGO/LEGOLAND Discovery Centres in the APAC region, ensuring all activities comply with all applicable local legal requirements.

  • Commercial and Procurement Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and procurement agreements.

  • Consumer Protection: Advise on compliance with regulations and best practices to ensure the highest standards of consumer safety and protection are maintained for the LEGO/LEGOLAND Discovery Centres in the APAC region.

  • Marketing Laws: Counsel on compliance with marketing regulations, including advertising, promotions, and communication strategies, with an emphasis on lawful engagement practices.

  • Privacy Laws: Advise on data privacy matters to safeguard customer information and company operations.

  • General Legal Advice: Provide comprehensive legal guidance and strategic advisory on a range of legal issues as they arise to ensure the company’s activities are conducted according to applicable local laws.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Educational & Professional Background: A Law Degree (LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent) from a reputable university, with a minimum of 8 years PQE. Experience in both a reputable law firm and an in-house role within a global company is highly preferred.

  • Legal Expertise: A solid generalist background with significant experience in corporate and commercial law. Strong experience in employment and labor law, including conducting investigations, is a strong advantage.

  • Technical Mastery: Highly proficient in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of complex commercial contracts.

  • Agility & Resilience: A self-motivated team player and critical thinker who can adapt to change and uncertainty. You are proactive and remain calm when reacting to urgent, high-priority business and legal requests.

  • Global Mindset: You enjoy working across diverse cultures and time zones, taking full ownership of your work and responsibilities while keeping stakeholders proactively informed.

  • Collaborative Spirit: Highly collaborative, with a curious mindset and a positive “can-do” approach to problem-solving.

  • Business Acumen: The ability to deeply understand business ambitions and strategies to provide commercially relevant legal advice. You demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and the discipline to follow through on all tasks.

  • Independent yet Integrated: Capable of working independently while functioning collaboratively as an integral part of the APAC LCR team under the direction of the Legal Director, APAC.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in other APAC regional languages is a plus.
