Copy Editor - 12 Month FTC (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking a experienced Copy Editor to join our Cyber team for a 12 month fixed term.

The role will consist of editing technical cybersecurity content according to our internal style guide. This includes content on AppSec, CloudSec, red and blue team topics, cyber crisis management, program documentation, assessments, and GRC. It might also include some microcopy platform work.

The copyeditor is responsible for ensuring every piece of content published is free of grammatical errors and typos, but also that every sentence is clear and concise, smooth to read, and easy to understand.

Accessibility is at the heart of the Quality Team, so part of our editing process involves formatting consistency and checking the content meets our accessibility requirements.

There may also be the opportunity to write blog posts on cybersecurity concepts, Immersive products, or other relevant topics.

You should apply if you have ​​(we know it’s tough, but please try to avoid the ​​confidence gap​.​​ You don’t have to match all the listed requirements exactly to be considered for this role):

  • Our ideal candidate will be an experienced editor comfortable grappling complex topics and re-writing them for clarity. 

  • They will have a minimum of two years of experience copyediting, proofreading, line editing, or subediting. Bonus points if the experience is in the technology or cybersecurity sector.

  • The best candidate will be a fast learner and able to adhere to our internal style guide and house tone of voice straight away.

  • They also need to be able to adapt to changing business priorities at short notice, and often juggle competing priorities. 

  • They need to be able to work independently but also have excellent communication skills, with the confidence to reach out to our cybersecurity experts to discuss edits or ask questions about the content to fact-check or ensure technical accuracy.

  • Knowledge of core cybersecurity concepts and tooling is valuable but not essential.
