Job Description

The Competency & Customer Training Specialist plays a dual role in strengthening internal technical capabilities within the Asia Pacific Life Cycle Services (LCS) organization while also driving the growth of Rockwell Automation’s customer training business in the region.
This role is approximately 50% internal competency development and 50% customer training business expansion, focusing on high‑quality training delivery, customer engagement, and commercial growth initiatives.

The position works closely with the Global Rockwell Automation University (RAU) team, regional LCS leaders, Sales, Channels, and Marketing to ensure our training programs deliver strong technical readiness and create customer value.

Your Responsibilities:

Internal Training & Competency Development

  • Deliver technical training courses for employees if required.

  • Coordinate with the Global RAU team on regional training calendars, schedules, and standardized AP program delivery.

  • Support delivery of talent programs such as YTDP; EIT; JIT programs.

Customer Training Business Growth

  • Drive commercial growth of customer training offerings (public classes, customized programs, blended learning, certifications).

  • Engage with Sales, Channels, and Marketing to position RA training within customer accounts and lifecycle service proposals.

  • Conduct customer training needs assessments and propose learning pathways aligned with RA technologies.

  • Support annual customer training revenue targets through enrollment growth and execution excellence.

  • Plan and execute training-related marketing campaigns, roadshows, webinars, and customer events.

  • Enhance customer experience through high‑quality delivery, feedback collection, and follow‑ups.

  • Analyze training demand, customer insights, and utilization trends to optimize schedules and regional offerings.

  • Collaborate with Marketing to improve training communications, web listings, and promotional assets.

  • Contribute to pricing, promotions, and commercial models to increase customer adoption.

  • Drive expansion of training portfolio, including development of new courses and digital learning solutions.

  • Organize resources for technical/soft‑skill/functional training delivery.

  • Support Learning Culture initiatives in AP including PLAN–TRAIN–MEASURE processes and Power BI reporting.

  • Collaborate with LCS leaders on learning progress and competency improvement activities.

  • Manage administration and maintenance of the training assets across AP except EIT specific training assets

  • Support continuous improvements, productivity projects, and new training initiatives.

  • Provide inputs for curriculum updates and new content development.

  • Partner with the Global RAU team to implement global-recommended modules and courses in the region.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Strong knowledge of Rockwell Automation products & technologies (Automation & Software).

  • Understanding of industrial automation applications and environments.

  • Experience of technical training delivery capability across key platforms such as PLC, HMI, Safety, Drives, Networks, and Software.

  • Ability to correlate theory with practical, industry-based implementation scenarios.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Science with 10+ years of experience in Industrial Automation (Projects, Services, or Training).

  • Experience in customer engagement, training commercialization, or business development.

  • Strong advocacy, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to coach and mentor participants, new hires, and junior engineers.
