Position Summary

The Commercial Segment Lead, MicroArray Business Unit (APAC) is responsible for driving growth and commercial success of Illumina’s market leading Infinium array technology across the region. This role is suited for an experienced commercial professional with a track record in developing commercial strategies, working across diverse APAC markets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes.

Job Description

  • Drive growth of the MicroArray portfolio across APAC by identifying and developing market opportunities and commercial initiatives
  • Support development and execution of strategic partnerships and commercial opportunities, with a focus on value creation and business outcomes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, marketing, product, service) to align on priorities and execute regional plans
  • Translate customer and market insights into strategies supporting growth across human and agrigenomics segments
  • Contribute to product positioning, pricing, and go-to-market approaches based on regional insights
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including external partners and industry experts
  • Support product launches and expansion into new applications and markets
  • Work with stakeholders to address business challenges and support effective outcomes in a complex, multi-market environment

Job Requirements

  • Experience in commercial, strategy, or business development roles within genomics, life sciences, or a related industry. Be able to manage complexity and uncertainty. Make the complex understandable. Be able to drive a multi-disciplinary team to come to a constructive outcome or solution.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to create/develop growth initiatives and commercial projects, including identifying risks and opportunities to drive ROI of deals/projects/programs and provide deal support while ensuring the day-to-day operations are seamless
  • Be ambitious – think big – drive growth mindset
  • Experience with product launch procedures, general knowledge of industry practices for launching, promoting, and selling similar products is preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across functions and geographies
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working across multiple markets or regions preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; relevant industry experience typically required. With 10+ years’ experience with genomics technologies, products and/or applications
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
