The Commercial Ops Analyst supports the APAC commercial organization by strengthening pricing discipline, improving margin attainment, and enhancing revenue forecast visibility across countries and sub-regions.

In addition to pricing and forecast support, this role will proactively identify growth opportunities across APAC by analyzing market dynamics, portfolio performance, competitive positioning, share of wallet, utilization trends, clinical adoption patterns, and strategic account penetration. The role will help uncover whitespace opportunities within sub-regions by evaluating customer segmentation, product mix shifts, clinical significance of applications, and evolving market demand drivers.

This is a regionally embedded role focused on enabling Sales Leaders with structured performance tracking, forward-looking revenue visibility, and actionable insights to accelerate sustainable growth across Illumina’s portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing & Margin Performance

  • Develop and maintain pricing dashboards tracking net price realization, discount trends, and margin attainment by Account Manager, Country, Division, and Sub-Region.
  • Identify pricing outliers and margin leakage risks proactively
  • Monitor adherence to pricing governance and annual price book execution.

Revenue Forecasting & Estimates

  • Assist finance and Com ops in improving accuracy of monthly and quarterly revenue estimates by country, sub-region, and division.
  • Assist finance and commercial on short-term forecast accuracy using pipeline trends, backlog movement, secured rate indicators, and historical conversion data.
  • Provide structured inputs for MOR

Backlog & Pipeline Visibility

  • Prepare models to estimate backlog and pipeline prediction
  • Support existing teams for pre-quarter backlog scrubbing and revenue risk mitigation.

Portfolio & Growth Identification

  • Monitor revenue trends, utilization patterns, and product mix across instruments, consumables, and clinical solutions.
  • Analyze share of wallet, competitive displacement signals, and underpenetrated accounts.
  • Evaluate sub-regional growth potential using market indicators, clinical adoption trends, and account segmentation.
  • Provide structured account and portfolio performance summaries to support growth strategies and commercial prioritization.

Qualifications

  • MSc in a quantitative field (Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related).
  • 2+ year’s experience in sales operations, pricing support, commercial reporting, or demand planning.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, Excel (advanced modelling), Python, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Experience supporting multi-country commercial teams preferred.
