Project Overview
This internship provides hands-on exposure to semiconductor manufacturing and the critical role of Critical Dimension Scanning Electron Microscope (CDSEM) metrology in process control. The intern will gain an understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes, CDSEM technology, recipe creation, statistical process monitoring, customer interactions, and tool-to-tool matching methodologies used in high-volume manufacturing.

Project Objectives

• Understand semiconductor wafer fabrication process flow and the role of metrology in process control.
• Learn the fundamentals of SEM technology and CDSEM operation.
• Gain practical experience in CDSEM recipe setup and optimization.
• Understand how CDSEM measurement data supports process monitoring, excursion detection, and yield improvement through SPC methodologies.
• Develop interpersonal and communication skills through interactions with customers, applications engineers, and factory personnel.
• Contribute to improving tool-to-tool matching methodologies to enhance measurement consistency across multiple CDSEM platforms.

Desired Skills Required:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Electronics, Semiconductor Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong interest in semiconductor manufacturing, metrology, and process control.
• Basic understanding of data analysis and statistics; familiarity with SPC concepts is an advantage.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to interpret technical data and identify trends or anomalies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and customers.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of data analysis tools such as Python, JMP, or Minitab is a plus.
• Basic understanding of microscopy, imaging systems, or semiconductor process technology is advantageous but not required.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.
