[What the role is]

The Singapore Global Network (SGN) is a division in the Economic Development Board tasked to re-energise Singapore's efforts in building a strong and extensive ecosystem of overseas Family, Friends, Fans (3F) for Singapore. SGN leads the Whole-Of-Government effort to coordinate across agencies and strengthen our collective networks whose skills, affinity and influence could help build linkages to global business and talent communities and enhance the international mindshare of Singapore as a leading globally connected city.

[What you will be working on]

As a member of SGN's digital products team, you will design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure that supports SGN's digital ecosystem. You will work primarily with AWS services and Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) to build secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer who specialises in serverless architectures and cloud security. This role focuses on infrastructure automation, security implementation, and operational excellence across our cloud environments. The role will involve but not be limited to:

  • Design and implement serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, and Step Functions

  • Provision and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles with Terraform and CloudFormation

  • Implement and maintain comprehensive security controls using AWS security services (IAM, WAF, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config)

  • Design and configure network security architectures including VPCs, security groups, and NACLs

  • Manage container orchestration using ECS and EKS for containerised workloads

  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using CloudTrail, CloudWatch and third-party tools

  • Perform AWS administration tasks including account management, billing optimisation, and resource governance

  • Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks

  • Implement and enforce IAM policies following least-privilege principles across all systems

Resourcefulness, integrity, drive, and strong collaboration skills are essential. We're looking for candidates with:

  • 2-5 years of cloud engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in AWS services and architecture

  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines

  • Advanced knowledge of AWS serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions)

  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform and CloudFormation

  • Strong understanding of AWS security services and cloud security best practices

  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, ECS, EKS) and serverless containers

  • Hands-on AWS administration experience including account management and cost optimisation

  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and AWS networking services

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools

  • Understanding of compliance frameworks and security audit processes

  • Singaporean or PR

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or Security Specialty certification

  • Experience with Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environments

  • Previous work with enterprise security frameworks and compliance requirements

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security automation

  • Experience with multi-account AWS organisations and governance
