Job SummaryThe Cloud Engineer is responsible for deploying, automating, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across enterprise environments. This role contributes during the design phase to ensure operational feasibility, automation readiness, and alignment with governance and security standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Cloud Engineer translates approved designs into resilient, cost-effective cloud solutions that support business objectives and enable long-term scalability. Success in this role requires a balance of technical expertise, automation proficiency, and collaborative engagement to deliver cloud services that are both efficient and compliant.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Manage and monitor cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Automate deployments using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep).
- Ensure compliance with governance policies, security standards, and cost optimization strategies.
- Participate in incident response activities and contribute to root cause analysis for cloud-related issues.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve cloud security protocols.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate and optimize cloud services.
- Document cloud architecture, automation workflows, and operational processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in cloud computing and infrastructure management.
- Hands-on experience with automation, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD practices.
Skills:
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure (multi-cloud exposure preferred).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates.
- Scripting: PowerShell, Python.
- CI/CD Tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
- Cloud Security and Compliance.
- Monitoring & Remediation: Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, Sentinel.
- Solution Architecture collaboration.
- Technical Documentation and Governance alignment.
- Troubleshooting and Incident Response.
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an office environment and perform tasks that may require sitting, standing, and using office equipment.
- Flexibility to collaborate across distributed teams and participate in remote meetings.
