Purpose of the position

  • To conduct audit and training against the requirements of relevant sustainability, ESG, and other management system/scheme assessments.

  • To provide expertise, produce surveillance and initial audit reports, and make recommendations for certification decisions.

  • To promote the BSI product offering and solutions to our clients with the view of improving their business performance, managing risk, and “Making excellence a habit.”

Key responsibilities & accountabilities

  • Conduct audit and training against relevant sustainability, ESG, and other management system standards, including but not limited to ESG, GHG, SRA, NEA, CPA, and other sustainability‑related schemes and other management systems.

  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely audit reports, ensuring clients fully understand audit findings, conclusions, and required corrective actions.

  • Make certification recommendations in accordance with BSI policies, procedures, and defined timelines.

  • Support the management, maintenance, and continual improvement of assigned sustainability and management system schemes, ensuring alignment with accreditation, regulatory, and BSI governance requirements. Ensure scheme requirements, rules, and guidance are correctly interpreted, applied, and communicated. Contribute to the review and update of scheme documentation, processes, and technical guidance as required.

  • Build and maintain effective, long‑term client relationships, acting as a trusted partner and technical expert within the assigned client portfolio.

  • Identify opportunities to promote BSI products and services, contributing to business development and increased client satisfaction.

  • Work closely with Customer Service and internal teams to ensure accurate client records, timely communication, and seamless service delivery.

  • Maintain and continuously develop auditor and trainer competence, including standards knowledge, sector expertise, and required competence codes.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal colleagues as required.

  • Coach and support colleagues, including participation in the induction and development of new auditors and trainers.

  • Act as a BSI Brand Ambassador, demonstrating ethical behaviour, professionalism, and adherence to company policies and values at all times.

Candidate specification                                                                                                  

  • Qualified Auditor and/or Trainer in sustainability-related standards and schemes such as ISO 14064 1 NEA CPA, SRA, ISO 50001, and other relevant ESG or sustainability frameworks.

  • Additional auditing experience in one or more management systems is strongly preferred, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.

  • Working experience in construction, chemical, engineering, semiconductor, mechanical engineering, electrical industry or other relevant sectors.  

  • Strong understanding of regulatory and industry compliance requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail

  • Self‑motivated, adaptable, and able to manage time and priorities effectively

  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple assignments

  • Collaborative, enthusiastic, and committed team player

  • Commercial awareness and customer‑focused mindset

  • Timeliness of E-Report upload

  • Timeliness of closing CAP and responding to report reviewer comments

  • Utilization

  • New competence codes obtained and existing codes maintenance
