The Team You’ll Work With

Carta is looking for a Business Development - Channel Partnerships Intern to join our APAC and Middle East team in January 2025.

Carta opened its Singapore office in 2021, and since then, has been building a world-class team to support the startup ecosystem across Asia Pacific. The Singapore team is lean and agile, and composed of local venture industry experts and Carta experts.

The Business Development - Channel Partnerships Intern for APAC and Middle East will report to Carta’s Head of Partnerships and Business Development, APAC + Middle East. This is a role that interfaces with both the VC and Startup business units at Carta. 

You will get the chance to work firsthand on a range of initiatives, including managing outreach to channel partners such as VCs, law firms, and audit firms, supporting in-person and online events, contributing to partnership strategy, and assisting in expanding our network in new markets. This role offers a unique opportunity to explore the different facets of business development and gain the skills needed to kickstart your career in B2B tech.

The Problems You’ll Solve

  • Identify Carta’s ideal channel partners, such as law firms, audit firms, venture capital firms, and other service providers, across APAC and the Middle East.
  • Prospect through multiple channels (email, phone, LinkedIn) to generate conversations, secure meetings, and build relationships with potential partners.
  • Support outreach and pipeline management, ensuring data integrity across key business systems such as Salesforce, Outreach, and Carta.
  • Organize and assist in executing in-person and online events that engage and add value to our partners, startups, and VC communities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure partner needs are met and objectives are aligned.
  • Proactively address challenges in partner onboarding and collaboration, delivering innovative and practical solutions.
  • Assist in enhancing internal processes for tracking partner engagement and measuring outcomes effectively.
  • Take on additional ad-hoc tasks as assigned to support the business development team’s goals.

  • Is highly resourceful and excels in outbound efforts, finding creative ways to engage new partners.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
  • Is adept at building rapport and long-lasting relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Thrives in external stakeholder management, handling multiple partnerships with professionalism and grace
  • Coachability - Tremendous desire to constantly improve in a “no-egos” and high velocity environment
  • Authorised to work in Singapore without sponsorship

Nice To Have

  • Experience managing data in a CRM system (Preferably: Salesforce)
  • Proficiencies with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (GSuite)
  • Knowledge of venture capital and startup ecosystem
  • Experience working at a high-growth software company or venture capital firm

This internship is on-site and located in Singapore.
