About this job:

The position is embedded in the Catastrophe (Cat) Modeling departments, which operate out of Singapore, Stamford, Toronto and Zurich. It is part of the larger Cat Underwriting Office unit which is responsible for Cat Risk Modeling, Research and Portfolio Analytics.

The Cat Modeling team supports risk transfer decisions based on our scientifically based view of Cat risk by running and analyzing vendor and proprietary cat models.

Your core responsibility in this role is to provide timely, efficient, and high-quality Cat risk modeling analytics to Underwriting, Actuarial and Risk Management.

In more detail your main tasks are:

  • Complete Cat modeling requests including thorough exposure data analysis, running cat models, communication of results and investigating the drivers of changes in the risk of loss over time.
  • Conduct quarterly portfolio modeling and support regulatory reporting (e.g., OSFI, Solvency II) and post-event loss estimation.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the PartnerRe Cat modeling landscape and to projects, to improve its efficiency, including the support in maintenance, testing and further development of internal software tools and maintaining procedure documentations.
  • Participate in Cat Research projects around the development of PartnerRe’s view of natural Cat risk with experts based in Zurich.
