Operational Risk Management Advisor

As an Operational Risk Management Advisor at OCBC, you'll play a critical role in identifying and mitigating risks that could impact our business. You'll work closely with stakeholders to develop and implement risk management strategies that support our growth and success. It's a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
How you succeed
To succeed in this role, you'll need to stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with business units to identify and assess risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them. You'll also need to communicate complex risk issues to stakeholders and provide guidance on risk management best practices.
What you do

  • Oversee consistent and effective implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework within the Business Units (“BU”)

  • Provide operational and business risk advisory to Business Units (“BU”) so as to help them manage risk effectively

  • Promote a culture of risk awareness and control mindset within the BU, supported by provision of training via the Risk Champion Meetings

  • Review and challenge Risk & Control Self Assessments, ensuring that risk and controls are properly identified and assessed by the BU

  • Review and challenge Risk Events. Establish Root cause and deep dive as appropriate and ensure timely remediation of identified gaps

  • Helping BU to adhere to applicable regulations, OCBC policies and procedures. Roll out updates and ensure changes are effectively embedded into the BU’s processes and systems

  • Liaise with Group Audit and BU to achieve satisfactory or better Audit ratings. Gatekeep all audit findings and ensure satisfactory closure of findings

  • Work closely with Risk Champions to support business growth, while at the same time providing risk management expertise and operational efficiency angle to the processes

  • Represent BRMT and work with relevant stakeholders on relevant projects contributing to business growth

Who you are
- A degree in a relevant field, such as business, finance, or risk management
- At least 3 years of experience in risk management or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles and practices, including risk assessment and mitigation techniques
