Position summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to identify, develop, and secure long-term business opportunities primarily within the NGL segment, while supporting short- and medium-term chartering opportunities in LNG.
Reporting to the Director, Business Development, you will play a key role in delivering Seapeak’s commercial strategy and financial targets. This includes building strong industry relationships, evaluating investments and partnerships, and providing insight and analysis on markets, trades, and competitors to inform strategic decisions.
What you’ll be doing
You will take responsibility for originating, developing, and negotiating commercial opportunities aligned with Seapeak’s strategic growth priorities. This will include identifying new customers and projects, managing tender and pre-qualification processes, and ensuring proposals and agreements meet safety and quality standards. You will work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to conduct market analysis, monitor competitor activity, and recommend actions that strengthen Seapeak’s market position.
The role demands a balance of strategic vision and hands-on commercial execution, from market analysis and origination through to negotiation, contracting, and project delivery. The role also involves preparing term sheets, charter parties, and business presentations, as well as supporting M&A or investment initiatives that expand our portfolio. Through strong networks, market insight, and disciplined project execution, you will help translate strategy into tangible business results.
What we are looking for
You are a commercially minded, strategically focused professional with a strong understanding of the NGL and LNG sectors. You combine instinctive commercial judgment with analytical depth and the drive to turn insight into opportunity. With a proven record in originating and negotiating commercial contracts, you bring credibility, confidence, and strong interpersonal skills to every interaction. You communicate effectively across cultures, thrive in a fast-moving international environment, and are equally comfortable leading initiatives independently or as part of a team. A degree in Business, Economics, Shipping, or a related field is desirable, as are proficiency in Microsoft Office and fluency in English. The role requires flexibility and a willingness to travel.
Why join us
At Seapeak, you will join a global organisation that values initiative, collaboration, and commercial excellence. This role offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact on our growth strategy while contributing to Seapeak’s reputation as a leader in the energy shipping sector. You will work alongside experienced professionals in a culture defined by safety, integrity, and respect, where your ideas are encouraged, and your success is recognised. If you’re ready to shape the next phase of Seapeak’s business development journey, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
