Summary

Reporting to the Business Controls and Technical Accounting Director, this role is responsible for strengthening the internal control environment across APAC by designing, implementing, and monitoring financial control frameworks in line with US GAAP, SOX 404, and internal policies. It drives standardization and continuous improvement of controls while partnering with Finance and cross-functional teams across the region. The role also provides guidance and training to ensure effective implementation of controls, requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to apply complex concepts in a practical, business-focused manner.

What You Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls over financial reporting across APAC
  • Develop and document control frameworks, including policies, key risks, and control activities
  • Evaluate business changes and optimize controls through standardization and automation
  • Lead internal control and process reviews to ensure effectiveness and compliance
  • Partner with business owners to implement and monitor remediation actions
  • Drive continuous improvement through best practices, innovation, and technology adoption
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to address risks and audit findings
  • Develop and deliver training to strengthen awareness of internal controls and financial risks

What You Need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting, audit, or internal controls within a complex organization
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX 404 requirements
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, financial reporting processes, and risk management frameworks
  • Proven ability to assess risks and design effective, scalable control environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply technical concepts in a practical business context

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in process improvement, transformation, or automation initiatives, including project management exposure
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across functions and multicultural environments

Travel Percentage: 30%
