Summary:
Reporting to the Business Controls and Technical Accounting Director, this role is responsible for strengthening the internal control environment and providing technical accounting expertise across the APAC region. The Manager will partner closely with Finance, Commercial, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and consistent application of accounting standards (primarily US GAAP/ASC 606).
The role requires a combination of strong technical accounting expertise, business partnering skills, and the ability to translate complex accounting requirements into practical, scalable processes.
What You Do
- Collaborate with regional and country finance teams to ensure consistent control execution
- Monitor control activities across APAC
- Lead periodic control reviews and identify gaps or inefficiencies
- Drive remediation of control deficiencies in partnership with process and business owners
- Support internal and external audit activities, including issue resolution and audit readiness
- • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), contract modifications, and non-standard sales arrangements
- Partner with commercial and legal teams during contract structuring to assess accounting implications and risks
- Interpret and operationalise accounting standards into practical business processes
- Stay abreast of new accounting standards and ensure timely implementation of corporate policies
What You Need
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent)
- Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in accounting, audit, or internal controls within a complex organisation
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX 404 requirements
- Solid understanding of internal controls, financial reporting processes, and risk management frameworks
- Proven ability to assess risks and design effective, scalable control environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply technical concepts in a practical business context
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in process improvement, transformation, or automation initiatives, including some project management exposure
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across functions and multicultural environments
