Why this mission

Within the North Asia Region composed of Hong Kong S.A.R. and Macao S.A.R. (HKMO), Mainland China, South Korea and Taiwan and reporting into the Head of Communication Measurement and Media Operations, North Asia, you will be a key contributor to communications intelligence, integrated POE measurement and media operations. You will provide advice to regional division teams and markets to bring to life the strategic intent of the business and ultimately enhance the long-term brand equity of the House.

You will play a pivotal role in bridging Global corporate teams, regional divisions, markets, the communications communities and agency partners, ensuring that vision, strategies and guidelines are appropriately adapted, interpreted into activation and measured across North Asia.

As a communications intelligence, integration and innovation partner, you will support the conditions to future-fit paid, owned and earned communications. You will translate changes in the media, communications, platform and data landscape into clear learning, practical recommendations and innovation opportunities for regional teams and market teams.

As a cross-functional role, you will work closely with regional communications, media, digital, insights divisions and market teams, together with the media agency and external expert partners, to foster a holistic and data-informed communications approach

The Impact You Can Create @ CHANEL

Communications intelligence, innovation & cross-divisional strategic view
  • Partner with internal and external experts and Global teams on strategic and innovation topics, translating developments into relevant outcomes, recommendations and learning for North Asia Communications market teams

  • Consolidate and interpret data from multiple sources to deliver campaign reviews and strategic deep-dives that identify drivers of impact, opportunities for optimization and reusable learnings

  • Infuse and contribute to key regional meetings and deliverables for the three divisions, including MTP, budget alignment, regional guidelines and strategic planning discussions

  • Identify opportunities to develop and test innovations, new communications formats, platform capabilities, measurement methodologies, data sources and operating approaches and support selected pilots with clear learning objectives

  • Establish a regular North Asia communications intelligence rhythm, including updates on media, PR, social platforms, creator | KOL ecosystems, audience behaviors, data and measurement developments

  • Nurture communications communities in the region and markets through expertise- and topic-based webinars, workshops, seminars and best-practice sharing

  • Support regional and market teams in adopting data-driven insights to optimise communications strategies and return on communications spending

  • Bridge global, regional and market teams: adapt and interpret Global guidelines, and advise on regional and local communications strategies

  • Align on KPIs and measure communications impact and influence across paid, owned, earned and shared practices and platforms in the communications eco-systems


Media operations
  • Support the media agency partnership at regional level and in markets, formulating North Asia strategic feedback to Global stakeholders and contributing to consolidated partnership reviews

  • Ensure global teams are equipped with a clear view of North Asia agency scope, services, delivery and performance, contributing to the evolution of global media agency scope and services in relation to North Asia needs

  • Support local market and agency teams on intelligence and innovation initiatives, services, deliverables and relevant operational topics

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather, analyse and interpret media-performance data, translating results into actionable recommendations

  • Support priority media and platform topics, including business division half-yearly reviews, GEO, AVB, XHS RedNote, OOH and other regional initiatives


Performance, platforms & strategic activation
  • Closely work with .com teams at market, regional and division level to support strategic activations and relevant communications performance topics.

  • Closely work with regional digital teams to ensure synergies where relevant, particularly on communications-related innovation, platforms, data and audience insights

  • Maintain an informed understanding of North Asia media and social-platform ecosystems, including relevant developments across Mainland China, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan

  • Translate platform evolution, audience behaviour and external industry trends into implications for communications strategy, activation and measurement


Governance & planning
  • Support the development and implementation of North Asia communications and media governance frameworks, in line with Global guidelines, to promote consistency, compliance and best practice.

  • Contribute to audits, assessments and reporting reviews to identify opportunities for stronger measurement quality, improved processes and greater efficiency.

  • Familiarise yourself with in-house tools, external consulting firms, vendors, third-party data and reports generated across North Asia.  Identify opportunities for synergies, efficiency and stronger insight for business and brand equity

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices, encouraging innovation in planning and execution, and regularly connecting with Global and other regional communities

What You Will Bring

  • You have 10+ years of relevant experience in a communications, media or insights agency, or in a communications strategy, media strategy, brand analytics or related in-house role at global, regional or local level

  • Solid, integrated experience working across traditional and digital media, social media, influence | KOL strategies and PR

  • Experience in communications intelligence, trend analysis, platform innovation, social listening, media measurement, brand tracking or communications effectiveness is highly valued

  • Strong understanding of media operations, agency partnership, performance management and governance within a regional or global context

  • Knowledge of North Asia’s media and digital ecosystems; experience with platforms such as XHS RedNote, Douyin, WeChat, Kakao, Naver, Instagram or TikTok is a strong advantage

  • Proven ability to translate complex qualitative and quantitative data into clear, actionable and strategically relevant insights

  • Excellent communication, collaboration and project-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, markets, divisions, Global stakeholders and external partners.

  • Possess an innovative mindset, able to demonstrate out-of-the-box thinking with the courage to experiment, test and learn

  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly, create compelling narratives and convince stakeholders

  • Strong influencing skills, a people-oriented mindset, discipline in execution and integrity

  • Fluent in English.  Mandarin and | or Korean is advantageous
