Position Summary 

As an experienced online educator, the candidate will work as an independent contractor of LINC Education to offer online facilitation services for students studying in the  Bachelor of Education (Primary)  offered by Victoria University Online. The educator will be responsible for the day-to-day academic support and delivery responsibilities, as well as providing a high level of 1:1 student support. Additionally, the online educator (referred to as LINC Fellow) will receive specialized training and active mentorship from LINC’s team to excel at online teaching. The program is offered in VU’s revolutionary block mode, where students take one unit in 4-week  blocks.

What’s on offer? 

Selected applicants will be engaged as independent contractors and will be offered a competitive fixed remuneration of $1560  to manage a class of 20-22 students. Further upsides are available based on larger batch sizes as well as achievement-related increments of up to 20%.

The role requires you to commit 10-15 hours per week during an 4-week study period, preceded by predeployment training. Since most online students are working professionals and study in non-office hours, online facilitators must have the flexibility to support students after 5 pm on weekdays (same day response to student emails/texts) and over weekends.

 Educators will have flexibility to work from a location of their convenience.


Roles & Responsibilities 

LINC Fellows will be responsible for providing subject matter guidance to a group of undergraduate online students through email / text / 1-1 online sessions. The following areas will be covered: 

  1. Learning skills like academic writing, research and time management; 

  2. Guidance on relevant reference material; 

  3. Assessment marking with long form feedback 

  4. Moderating discussion forums and online learning activities; and

  5. Proactive, prompt and personalized support to student queries and issues.

Selection Criteria 

  • A Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Primary or Secondary Teaching/Education in a relevant field. A graduate diploma, certificate, or equivalent qualification will also be considered in the relevant field.

  • 3 years of relevant teaching, research, and/or professional experience in the last 5 years in the field of Physical Education or Health Education, Public Health, Community Development, Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, and Pedagogy of Health and Physical Education.

  • A valid Teacher registration is mandatory for the process. 

  • Full working rights to work within Australia

  • An Australian Business Number or ABN as a sole trader, or of the entity that will contract with LINC.
