As the Cloud Architect, you will own solution architecture across the full lifecycle — from pre-sales and solutioning, to hands-on design, build guidance, and production rollout.
You will partner closely with sales, consulting, and delivery teams to translate business problems into secure, scalable AWS architectures, while staying close enough to the technology to ensure solutions are practical and buildable.
What You’ll DoPre-Sales & Solutioning
- Engage clients during discovery to understand business, technical, and operational requirements
- Design AWS solution architectures for proposals, RFPs, and client presentations
- Articulate architecture options, trade-offs, and cost considerations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support effort estimation, sizing, and high-level delivery approaches
- Collaborate with sales and consulting teams to shape compelling, technically sound solutions
Architecture & Hands-on Delivery
- Design end-to-end AWS architectures covering compute, storage, networking, security, and data
- Define reference architectures, patterns, and standards for delivery teams
- Remain hands-on where needed — reviewing IaC, cloud configurations, and application designs
- Guide developers and DevOps engineers on architecture, security, and scalability decisions
- Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements (performance, availability, resilience, cost)
- Support cloud migrations, modernisation, and optimisation initiatives
- 6+ years of overall IT experience, with strong hands-on AWS architecture background
- Proven experience designing and delivering production AWS solutions
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of cloud security, networking, and governance
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
- Comfortable engaging clients, running architecture discussions, and presenting solutions
- Ability to balance technical depth with business context
- AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) certification is strongly preferred
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines
- Architect and deliver real-world, enterprise-grade AWS solutions
- Play a visible role in both pre-sales and delivery success
- Work closely with senior consultants, sales leaders, and engineering teams
- Strong support for certifications, learning, and technical growth
- Opportunity to grow into Principal Architect, Cloud Practice Lead, or Solution Director roles
