To play a crucial role in developing, validating, and implementing advanced analytical and data solutions to enhance OCBC’s credit risk management capabilities. This role focuses on using statistical methods (e.g., loss forecasting, stress testing) and data analytics to derive insights to facilitate management of our consumer credit portfolios.
How it works
The successful candidate will be a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual with strong programming skills and a solid understanding of credit risk principles. This role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders including Risk Management, Data Science, IT, and business units.
What you do
Perform in-depth analysis of consumer credit portfolios to assess portfolio performance, risk migration, concentration risks, and emerging trends across products, customer segments, and risk grades. Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations to support credit strategy and policy formulation.
Lead or support advanced analytics initiatives such as loss forecasting, stress testing, and scenario analysis. Apply sound statistical and analytical techniques to evaluate portfolio sensitivity under different economic environments assumptions.
Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end portfolio reporting and dashboards, delivering clear, concise, and timely insights to senior management. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and automation of recurring reports while continuously enhancing report content to reflect evolving risk priorities.
Build, optimise, and automate analytics pipelines (primarily using Python) to support credit risk models, portfolio monitoring, and ad hoc analyses. Improve code efficiency, scalability, and robustness, while ensuring strong documentation and reproducibility of analytics workflows.
Support regulatory, audit, and management requests by providing well-structured analyses, documentation, and clear explanations of methodologies, assumptions, and results.
Who you are
Bachelor’s degree with quantitative content.
Strong working experience with Python for data manipulation and analysis (Python proficiency is mandatory).
Experience with SQL, SAS, and/or Hadoop is advantageous.
At least 5 years of hands-on analytics experience, ideally within financial services or credit risk.
A clear, structured communicator who can translate data into meaningful narratives for stakeholders.
Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to guide or lead junior analysts.
Adaptable, resourceful, and eager to take on new challenges.
