Business Function

Group Finance Platform (GFP) aims to be a trusted partner to Finance and other users of itd platforms. The AVP will be part of the One Finance Platform (OFP) Data Quality team within Group Finance Platform (GFP). This role is responsible for leading Data Quality initiatives across OFP, ensuring data integrity, driving root cause resolution, and partnering with Finance and Technology stakeholders to deliver sustainable and scalable solutions.

The successful candidate must possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, be able to independently investigate complex data issues, make sound decisions based on facts and data, and provide leadership and guidance to the team. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee data quality monitoring, reconciliation, anomaly detection, and issue 
    management across OFP.
  2. Lead end-to-end investigation of complex data issues, assess business impact, and drive sustainable remediation.
  3. Act as the escalation point for critical issues, provide guidance to team members, and make informed decisions based on data and business considerations.
  4. Work closely with Finance, Technology, and upstream system teams to resolve issues and deliver strategic solutions.
  5. Identify opportunities to enhance controls, standardise processes, and leverage analytics, AI, and automation to improve operational efficiency.
  6. Drive solution design, standardisation, automation, and AI-driven improvements to strengthen data quality, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability across OFP.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of AI, automation, or data analytics tools is a strong advantage.
  • Equip with knowledge of SQL and data analysis skills
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Hands-on in data investigation and problem solving
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical mindset
  • Able to challenge, influence and make decisions confidently
  • Takes ownership and drives issues to closure
  • Experience in Finance, Data Quality, Data Governance, Business Analysis or Production Support
  • Self-starter, highly competent and able to work independently
  • Eye for detail and diligence in documentation
  • Well versed in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word/ Office 365 applications
  • Prior experience of working in a banking industry would be preferred
  • With at least 6 years of relevant working experience, preferably with data management and analytics in the banking industry

Education / Qualification:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant certifications in Data Analytics, Data Management, Business Analysis, or 
    Data Governance would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Automation, or Data Analytics 
    technologies would be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation, analytics, or AI-assisted tools to improve business 
    processes and operational efficiency is desirable.
