Job Profile Summary

Transaction Services (“TS”) is one the businesses under Wholesale Banking and offers Trade Finance, Working Capital, Payments & Cash Management and Liquidity & pooling solutions to corporate and FI clients across the ING franchise. This business has been identified as key to the future growth of the ING Wholesale banking business. 

ING is looking to expand its Transaction Services business in Asia. TS provides a challenging professional environment within ING Wholesale Banking, in a growing business serving clients in an international environment. Trade Finance at ING includes the full suite of products including documentary trade, guarantees, Receivables finance and supplier finance.

The Product Manager for Trade Finance is responsible for managing the development, enhancement, and lifecycle and commercialization of trade finance and supply chain finance products across the region. This role supports the execution of the regional product strategy, ensuring alignment with market needs, regulatory requirements, and business goals. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, technology, and compliance and group stakeholders to deliver innovative and competitive solutions to clients.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Product Development & Management:

  • Assist in the development and enhancement of trade finance and supply chain finance products, such as letters of credit, guarantees, receivables finance, and supplier financing solutions.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities for product innovation.
  • Work with and support the Regional Head of TF Product Management to define product roadmaps and prioritize development initiatives.
  • Navigate the new product approval process, ensuring all necessary documentation, risk assessments, and approvals are completed in accordance with internal guidelines.
  • Work closely with sales teams to provide product expertise and support client pitches and proposals.
  • Partner with operations, technology, and implementation teams to ensure seamless delivery and scalability of products.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop product collateral and go-to-market strategies.

2. Product Lifecycle Management and Commercialization:

  • Oversee product performance, ensuring alignment with revenue, profitability, and client satisfaction goals.
  • Manage product updates, customization, and rationalization based on client feedback, market demand, and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure all products meet compliance and risk management standards.
  • Drive product commercialization in APAC markets for all Trade Products.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in product management, trade finance in transaction banking.
  • Proven track record of managing new product approval and management of new products.
  • Hands on knowledge of trade finance products (Receivables financing, supply chain finance, a.o letters of credit, guarantees, SBLCs, trade loans, etc.) and their operational, legal, and compliance aspects.
  • Experience in working with Supply Chain Finance and Receivables Finance platforms.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with diverse and cross-functional teams across regions.
  • Experience in handling governance matters across Trade Finance Products
  • Willingness to travel regionally as needed.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
