We are seeking a driven and collaborative Associate Product Manager to join the Infinium Array Product Management team to help shape the future of array-based genomic technologies.
Position Overview
This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a scientific background and a passion for product development and customer-centric innovation. As an Associate Product Manager, you will support the commercial and strategic execution of Illumina’s Infinium Genotyping and Methylation product portfolio. You will work cross-functionally to understand market needs, define product requirements, and ensure the successful execution of product initiatives.
Your work will directly contribute to Illumina’s mission by enabling researchers and clinicians with cutting-edge tools to understand the biology of disease, ancestry, and human diversity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Product Strategy: Help execute product roadmaps for Infinium genotyping and methylation arrays that align with Illumina’s strategic goals.
- Customer Insight & VoC: Gather and synthesize Voice of Customer (VoC) insights through interviews, surveys, and support interactions to inform new product development and enhancements.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Monitor industry trends, customer applications, and competitors for product positioning.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Contribute to lifecycle management activities, including tracking product performance, supporting pricing strategy, and identifying portfolio gaps.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Operations, Sales, and Global Marketing to align on development timelines, specifications, and launch plans.
- Enable Commercial Success: Partner with commercial teams to develop sales tools, product collaterals, competitive positioning, and training materials.
- Support Key Initiatives: Contribute to high-impact projects, custom content development, or targeted applications (e.g., agrigenomics, biobank, population health).
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related life science field. Business coursework or a dual-degree in business/life sciences is a plus.
- Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience (including internships or co-ops) in biotechnology, diagnostics, or genomics; prior exposure to product marketing, commercial support, or lab-based research is preferred.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Basic understanding of microarray and/or genotyping technologies.
- Excellent communication skills; able to articulate technical details to cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Passion for customer advocacy and building innovative solutions.
- Experience with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, or Tableau is a plus.
