About the Role:

We are seeking an Associate Director to lead market research and analysis for the Asian Nylon Fibers & Feedstocks market. This role is responsible for driving thought leadership, engaging with clients at senior levels, and ensuring high-quality market insights that influence business decisions across the chemical value chain. The Associate Director will oversee and guide analytics, forecasting, and client deliverables, while also contributing to the growth and positioning of CMA’s offerings. This role reports to the Executive Director, Aromatics.

Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones company, enables stakeholders in the global chemical industry to improve operational efficiency with deep insights, future outlooks, price discovery and consultation from a celebrated team of subject matter experts. We offer short- and long-term market coverage for more than 200 core building-block chemicals with a full suite of advisory services and top-tier events held around the globe. The worldwide chemical industry looks to Chemical Market Analytics to guide decisions and help manage risk across the entire value chain. 


You Will:
  • Lead analysis, insights, and forecasts for Nylon Fibers and Feedstocks, ensuring analytical rigor and strategic relevance.

  • Represent CMA in senior client discussions, industry events, and conferences; deliver thought leadership presentations and provide advisory-level insights.

  • Drive commercial growth by partnering with Sales & Marketing and identifying new business opportunities.

  • Guide the development and maintenance of supply-demand balances, production capacity databases, and market models across the value chain.

  • Ensure global consistency of product area outlooks through collaboration with global peers.

  • Mentor and guide junior analysts, contributing to capability development within the team.

  • Contribute to the enhancement of CMA’s data, analytics platforms, and client deliverables.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by translating market analysis into actionable insights.

You Have:
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience, with deep knowledge of the chemical sector; previous exposure to the Aromatics or Nylon Fibers value chain preferred.

  • Proven ability to engage and influence at senior client levels and across internal stakeholders.

  • Strong track record of delivering market insights with commercial impact.

  • An engineering degree is preferred; an MBA or equivalent business qualification is a strong plus.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin Chinese.

  • Advanced analytical capabilities with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong leadership qualities, with experience mentoring or guiding team members.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
