Assistant Manager, Research Data and Analytics

The College of Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore invites applications for the position of Team Lead, Research Data & Analytics within its Research & Partnerships Team.
Role Overview
You will lead the College’s research data and analytics function, strengthening the quality, consistency and usability of research funding, publication and related information. Working across Schools, Research & Partnerships teams and University offices, you will oversee reporting, data governance, process improvement, research data management and the Research & Partnerships intranet portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Team 5’s workplan, priorities and delivery across research data reporting and analytics, research data management and intranet governance.
- Review data requirements and workflows, and coordinate the accurate collation, verification, reconciliation and interpretation of research funding, publication and citation data.
- Develop and maintain standard templates, SOPs, data definitions, master datasets and quality-control processes.
- Produce management reports and insights for College, School and University stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements, dashboards and appropriate automation to reduce manual effort and strengthen transparency.
- Coordinate with relevant University offices on Research Driver, RISE, Interfolio–Pure and related data processes.
- Review research data management requirements, clarify College and School responsibilities and coordinate improvements to the College framework.
- Lead the development and maintenance of Research & Partnerships intranet content.
- Manage stakeholder requests, present progress and risks, and guide team members in delivering accurate and timely work.
- Undertake other related initiatives assigned by the Office.
Requirements:
- A good University Degree in data analytics, information systems, engineering, statistics, public administration or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in data analytics, management reporting, data governance, process improvement or research administration.
- Experience leading projects or small teams and coordinating across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working proficiency in Power BI or an equivalent data visualisation tool. Exposure to automation, databases, scripting or research information systems will be an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to establish standards, manage competing deadlines and handle sensitive information appropriately.
