Job DescriptionThe Assistant Finance Manager will provide finance leadership to the South Korea and Hong Kong entities + Accounts Receivables for the region. The incumbent will be accountable for all aspects related to finance and accounting. Reporting directly to the Senior Reporting Manager, this position will complete all financial and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the various systems. This role will also be responsible for managing local statutory accounts, local/income tax and VAT filing, other reporting requirements and cash management including dividend and intra group loan. This role will also support Regional Treasury operation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Ensure consistent use and appropriate application of the global chart of accounts and accounting principles and policies.
- Timely & accurate month, interim and year end close activities
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor business control effectiveness and develop/execute improvement plans to assure accurate financial reporting.
- Lead the Regional Accounts Receivables performance metric.
- Support Regional treasury matters such as loan, financing, bank guarantee applications etc.
- Responsible for cash forecast, defining funding and hedging requirements and ensuring Divisional Treasury policies are adhered to
- Arrange intra group loan and dividend working with divisional tax team.
- Support all internal and external audits
- Support improvement and internal control initiatives
Budgetary
- Work with Budget Owners to get an understanding of performance.
- Work with regional FP&A team for budget variance commentary and reporting.
- Target areas of expense overruns/inconsistencies and implement corrective measures.
Tax & Compliance
- Provide statutory account, tax filing and other reporting to local authority in a timely manner.
- Run and report monthly minimum control to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
- Monitor and assess business control environment and take action to improve it if weakness is found.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (or equivalent) from a recognised institute or equivalent professional qualification such as ACCA
- Experience in Manufacturing industry/Trading industry
- Experience of working in well-established global multinationals with matrix reporting structures.
- Experience in data management, including use of business intelligence reporting and finance systems. Knowledge of SAP is a must.
- Good communication in English and Chinese
- Strong organizational skill and good interpersonal skill
