ABOUT BeeX

BeeX is building the world's most advanced Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs).

BeeX specialises in providing autonomous robotics solutions to safeguard underwater infrastructure in the maritime, energy and defense sectors, reducing over 90% of carbon emissions. We are pioneering Autonomous Robotics-as-a-Service (ARaaS) on a global scale, supported by decades of operational experiences in harsh waters. With unprecedented efficiency, we strive to provide our customers with a one-point solution for asset integrity management -- protecting assets they value, making sure they stay safe.

WHY JOIN US NOW
The industries we serve need new ways to overcome their current challenges, and BeeX is delivering exactly that. Creating anything new is very hard. To do this, we need outstanding people.

At BeeX, everyone is dependent; united by enthusiasm for bold innovation. Our multi-disciplinary team thrives in dynamic environments, driving transformative advancements globally.

Your progress at BeeX depends largely on you, not some arbitrary corporate ladder. You will be exposed to different aspects of Deeptech, from design to commercialisation. Join us to make a meaningful impact on the world!

Your daily schedule will include frequent interactions with a multi-disciplinary team and you need to be equally comfortable working at sea trials and a normal desk in the office.

You will report directly to the Sustaining Lead and Chief Technology Officer.

Job Scope

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and systems faults across all vehicle subsystems both on-site and in workshop — includes power systems, motor drives, data connectivity, sensors, electronics, and mechanical chassis.
  • Conduct repair of vehicle systems: covering disassembly and replacement or rework of affected parts, such as pressure hulls, thrusters, PCB rework, wire harnesses, etc.
  • Verify all repaired assemblies through thorough functional and environmental testing, and sea trial, before redeployment.
  • Identify and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring faults and failures; document findings and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide on-call technical support to field operators, including remote triage and step-by-step guidance for in-field issues.
  • Work alongside the engineering team to provide field feedback, flag design-for-maintainability issues, and support continuous improvement for vehicle reliability.
  • Maintain clear and accurate maintenance records, fault logs, repair reports, and service guides for all fleet vehicles.
  • Build documentation of diagnosis processes and fixes for on-site response and in-depth workshop repairs.

Desired Qualities

  • Diploma or B.Eng degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a relevant technical field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant hands-on experience in a technical maintenance, field engineering, or systems integration role; experience with marine, or robotics systems is a strong plus.
  • Strong practical skills in electrical troubleshooting — comfortable using a multimeter, oscilloscope, and bench power supply to diagnose faults at component and system level.
  • Familiarity with software systems diagnostics — able to navigate logs, use SSH and CLI tools, and perform firmware updates; ROS/ROS2 experience is advantageous.
  • Strong hands-on skills for rework and repair, such as electronics assembly, soldering, crimping, wire harnessing.
  • Experience working with battery systems is a plus.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Self-driven and dependable; takes ownership of issues through to resolution and follows up without being chased.
  • Strong written communication skills — able to produce clear fault reports, SOPs, and handoff notes without supervision.

Remuneration Package

  • Market competitive salary
  • Growth opportunities that align with your direct ability in helping the company, rather than an arbitrary corporate ladder
  • ESOP / equity participation
  • Healthcare support
  • Special access to industry events
  • Well-stocked pantry with nice snacks
  • Support for skills upgrading / learning credits

Prior to your interview, please prepare:

  • Testimonial of 1 other engineer who has worked with you
  • PCB Design from a previous project
