IMDA is spearheading Singapore’s drive to be a world leading Digital Economy. IMDA aims to empower our companies and workforce with digital technologies and enable Singapore to be a leading Digital Economy in the global area. BizTech group focuses on driving industry adoption of frontier technologies, such as AI/Data, 5G and Trust Technologies, and work with the National Research Foundation, Institutes of Higher Learning and Research Institutes on upstream research and translation at scale.
The successful candidate is part of the Tech Policy team that develops strategies to use emerging technologies to strengthen Singapore’s resilience and capture economic opportunities.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct research and analysis on technology policies and their impact on various stakeholders
  • Monitor technology trends and developments to identify potential policy issues
  • Develop strategies on the usage of emerging technologies based on research and analysis
  • Support technology policy development
  • Align IMDA’s efforts with broader national efforts such as those led by NAIO and NQO
  • Coordinate AI and quantum-related efforts within IMDA
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing policies and make recommendations for improvements
  • Communicate and engage key external stakeholders on related issues
  • Provide guidance and support on technology policy related issues

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in working with technology teams in research and/or engineering
  • Strategic thinker with collaborative attitude and a strong team player
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong presentation and engagement skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to work with both local and overseas partners and stakeholders

Position will be commensurate with experience.
