  • Develop and maintain dashboards that provide management with a clear view of portfolio performance, risk exposure, valuation, and company progress.

  • Communicate upcoming corporate actions (fundraising rounds, governance changes, share issuances) to management and flag material portfolio developments in a timely manner.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Act as main point of contact for portfolio companies (NTU spin-offs and startups), ensuring regular engagement, updates and relationship-building, with a clear understanding of each company’s technology, development stage, and current needs.

  • Facilitate portfolio companies’ access to relevant university services and resources, including research laboratories, facilities, technical know-how, incubation programmes, and enterprise support.

  • Identify suitable grant calls, funding schemes and investment opportunities and proactively connect relevant portfolio companies.

Strategic Funding Initiatives & Proposal Development

  • Postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications in finance, accounting, corporate governance or risk management would be advantageous.

  • Good understanding of how research and technology are translated into commercial ventures or startups, with the ability to operate across technical, financial, and governance considerations.

  • Working knowledge of corporate structures, shareholder matters, and financial concepts (e.g. financial statements, cap tables, funding instruments).

  • Expertise in investment valuation, portfolio management, IP and/or licensing frameworks would be an advantage.

  • Familiarity with governance, compliance, and accountability requirements in a university or public-sector environment.

  • Understanding of capital raising from both private and governmental funding sources.

  • At least 7–10 years of relevant professional experience, which may include experience in engineering, scientific research, technology development, programme or portfolio management, corporate development, investment operations, or other innovation and enterprise roles.

  • Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups, including senior management and external partners, is highly desirable.

  • Prior exposure to venture investment, portfolio governance, technology transfer, or startup environments would be beneficial.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to synthesise technical, financial, and governance inputs into clear and structured recommendations.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse stakeholders, bridge technical and non-technical perspectives, and communicate effectively at senior levels.

  • Ability to coordinate interdependent activities and manage deadlines proactively, with a high level of attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and compliance-related work.

  • Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable operating in environments characterised by ambiguity, evolving policies, and competing priorities.
