We are seeking a talented individual to join our broking team at Marsh. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This will be an exceptional opportunity to collaborate and work alongside a highly motivated, well established and professional broking team based in Singapore. We will count on you to:

  • Supporting the cargo leader and senior members of the team for larger clients or complex accounts, and key person for mid-size accounts, ensure service levels are met or exceeds expectations.
  • Understand the client’s business, industry sector, key risks associated with their industry, cargo insurance programs & service plans and develop a rapport with decision makers.
  • Develop and implement strategic agenda and growth plan with Cargo leader. Drive sales and placement initiatives.
  • Take accountability for strategic growth, develop and implement strategies to realize corporate opportunities.
  • Conduct research, evaluation and document trends. Understands and evaluate customer perspectives, needs and requirements to identify growth opportunities.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of relevant insurers, third party service providers and their products and services, and an awareness of competitors and the regulatory and relevant compliance environment in Singapore
  • Execute corporate development plans and strategies. Works with sales/industry/client executives to position the cargo product line firmly into strategic and client discussions/plans.
  • Be responsible for and convene internal pre-meetings before the renewal strategy meeting.
  • Assist and have oversight of cargo placement activities and support with strategic and market discussions when appropriate.
  • Conduct needs analysis and develops broking plans in response to client needs and gains client’s approval, in conjunction with the client and/or relevant stakeholder.
  • Negotiate and evaluates quotes from the carrier and presents a recommendation to client. Communicates the broking plan to clients, brokers and carriers, as appropriate.
  • Contributes to client retention through effective risk solutions and excellence in service.

What you need to have:

  • Degree in any discipline.
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience in Marine Cargo is a must.
  • Attained minimum Certificate in General Insurance (CGI) or equivalent. ANZIIF or ACII will be an advantage.
