The role partners with local operating companies, regional cross-functional teams and global teams to define strategic priorities, align business plans, influence asset and evidence plans, and translate regional strategy into strong local execution.

The position will have a particular focus on maximizing the value of the in-market IBD portfolio, strengthening launch and lifecycle excellence, and shaping future IBD assets so that Asia Pacific patient, customer, access and market needs are reflected early in global decisions.

Key accountabilities

1. IBD portfolio strategy and business leadership

•           Lead the development and deployment of the Asia Pacific IBD commercial strategy and business plan, integrating global direction with the needs of diverse markets across the region.

•           Translate market, customer, competitor, access and patient insights into clear strategic choices, priorities and resource recommendations.

•           Drive growth and competitiveness for the in-market IBD portfolio, with disciplined performance tracking and timely action to close execution gaps.

•           Lead regional launch readiness and lifecycle planning, including market shaping, indication expansion, customer strategy and go-to-market choices.

•           Manage regional budgets and investment choices, monitor operating expenses and recommend trade-offs based on expected business and patient impact.

2. Pipeline and global influence

•           Represent a clear Asia Pacific perspective in global commercial, development and cross-functional forums.

•           Influence global asset strategy, clinical development, evidence generation, value strategy and commercialization timing so that future IBD assets are fit for purpose in Asia Pacific.

•           Build robust regional opportunity assessments and business cases for early and late-stage assets, including key assumptions, risks, scenarios and decision points.

•           Identify regional barriers to adoption and access early, and mobilize appropriate commercial, medical, market access and policy-shaping responses.

3. Market partnership and execution excellence

•           Build trusted partnerships with country business units and IBD commercial leads, creating a cohesive regional plan while respecting market-specific realities.

•           Enable markets to convert regional strategy into clear local priorities, launch plans and execution standards.

•           Facilitate sharing of best practices, reusable tools and learning across markets, with particular attention to priority IBD markets in Asia Pacific.

•           Use analytics, customer insights and commercial excellence capabilities to improve decision quality, execution focus and business outcomes.

•           Ensure initiatives are delivered in a timely, compliant and collaborative manner.

4. Cross-functional leadership

•           Lead the regional IBD cross-functional team across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Health Economics and Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain and other relevant functions.

•           Establish clear objectives, decision rights, governance and follow-through across the cross-functional team.

•           Create alignment when regional, global and local perspectives differ, and frame decisions in a concise, evidence-based way for senior leaders.

•           Build strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders relevant to IBD strategy, while observing all healthcare compliance, data privacy and legal requirements.

5. Capability and talent development

•           Coach and develop colleagues supporting the IBD portfolio, building strategic marketing, launch, analytics, business-case and influencing capabilities.

•           Contribute to a high-performing, inclusive and learning-focused culture across APSO Immunology and market teams.

•           Support the development of the regional talent pipeline through purposeful assignments, feedback, exposure and capability-building initiatives.

•           Demonstrate Credo-based leadership, enterprise thinking, accountability and constructive challenge.

Measures of success

•           Portfolio growth, competitiveness and market-share performance against agreed plans

•           Successful and timely launch readiness and lifecycle execution across priority markets

•           Quality and impact of Asia Pacific input into global asset, evidence and commercialization decisions

•           Quality of strategic plans, business cases, investment recommendations and performance management

•           Effective budget stewardship and resource prioritization

•           Strong cross-functional and market partnership, with clear governance and delivery against commitments

•           Full compliance with healthcare compliance, privacy, legal and regulatory requirements

Requirements

•           Bachelor's degree in business, science, pharmacy, medicine or another relevant discipline required; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.

•           At least eight years of progressive commercial experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device or healthcare industry.

•           Strong experience in strategic marketing, commercial strategy, sales leadership, commercial excellence or a related role.

•           Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional and cross-geographic teams, including influence without direct authority.

•           Experience developing business plans, launch strategies, portfolio choices and investment recommendations.

•           Experience in Immunology, Gastroenterology or IBD is strongly preferred.
