We are currently seeking for an individual who are self-driven and has strong passion for baking and confectionery. The successful candidate will join the Bakery and Sweet Goods team to carry out scientific application trials and conducting both sensorial and quantitative analysis to solve our customer’s product development challenges in color and flavor applications.
The Innovations Centre in Singapore is the regional hub that houses flavorists, sensory scientist, food technologists, and industry experts. The successful candidate will have ample opportunity to further their career to more senior, customer-facing roles within the business. This exciting opportunity is 100% office based at our Biopolis office.
What you will do:
Develop application tools in Bakery and Sweet Goods segment to demonstrate the sensorial and the aesthetic performance of the flavor and color solutions.
Provide technical support to both internal and external customers with formulation development, processing modifications, and scientific application studies.
Support promotional campaigns and initiatives for external customers with close collaboration with Marketing, Commercial, and Local Technical Teams.
Expand the flavors and colors library with continued review, evaluation and stability studies.
Participate in pilot and production trials with high degree of technical challenge.
Support customer trainings and technical workshops to promote flavor and color solutions
Ensure smooth laboratory operation by maintaining raw material availability and good running condition of bakery processing equipment.
Being responsible for any other assignments as delegated by the Technical Services Manager
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, culinary, or applied science related to food
- Preferably with minimum 2 years of experience in sweet goods category such as bakery and confectionery products with knowledge in product development involving the use of flavors and colors.
- Understanding of ingredient technology, their usage, interactions, and processing.
- Creativity, passion, and keen interest in the science behind baking and confectionery
