As an Application Support Engineer at OCBC, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our systems and infrastructure are secure, efficient, and always available. How you succeed
To succeed in this role, you'll need to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to technology trends and advancements. You'll work closely with our technology teams to design, implement, and maintain our infrastructure, ensuring it's aligned with our business goals and objectives. You'll need to be proactive, collaborative, and always looking for ways to improve our systems and processes.
What you do

  • Provide technical support for credit processing applications

  • Monitor application performance, availability, and functionality; troubleshoot and resolve related incidents promptly.

  • Analyse logs, error messages, and system metrics to diagnose and identify root causes of issues.

  • Collaborate closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.

  • Conduct impact analysis and assist with the deployment of patches, fixes, and software upgrades.

  • Document incidents, resolutions, and workarounds thoroughly in the knowledge base for future reference.

  • Participate in on-call rotations to deliver timely support during critical incidents and outages.

  • Assist with performance tuning and optimization efforts to enhance application efficiency.

  • Support integration points between microservices and external systems, ensuring seamless communication.

  • Adhere to ITIL best practices and maintain compliance with established service level agreements (SLAs).


Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • At least 10 years of experience in application support management.

  • Hands on Experience with IIS, WebLogic Server

  • Proficient in JAVA application support and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, messaging queues (e.g., Kafka), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as ELK Stack, Grafana

  • Experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.

  • Solid understanding of databases (MySQL, Oracle & Postgres ) and ability to write and optimize SQL queries.

  • Hands-on experience with IIS and Oracle WebLogic Server, including deployment support, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

  • Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
