Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an Analyst or Associate for the Private Equity Asia group with a focus on direct private equity investments. Located in our Hong Kong office and reporting to the Managing Director & Head of Private Equity Asia, the Analyst or Associate plays a key role in making direct investments in the Asia Pacific region. 


Responsibilities

Analyze Investment Opportunities

  • Conduct research, analysis and due diligence of a variety of private equity investment opportunities; develop complex dynamic financial models and valuation analysis, including DCF, LBO, precedent transactions and comparable company analysis
  • Participate in deal evaluation, including sharing views on overall deal attractiveness based on findings from diligence work
  • Work with internal and external parties to drive due diligence and deal execution

Recommend

  • Contribute to the development of investment recommendations based on the results of the team’s due diligence and analysis. Participate in drafting private equity investment recommendations as well as presenting investment recommendations to the Investment Committee and Board, as required

Monitor Investment Portfolio

  • Coordinate with internal groups with respect to monitoring ongoing investments; monitor ongoing financial performance of portfolio companies and oversee the reviews of valuations for portfolio companies
  • Be responsible for or support the efforts of building and leveraging relationships with portfolio company management teams and private equity sponsors
  • Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of potential exit alternatives

Qualifications

  • 2 – 3 years of investment banking/strategy consulting experience and/or 1 – 2 years of private equity experience 
  • Strong research, financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills
  • Experienced in driving important pieces of private equity investment or M&A work, conducting complicated due diligence work and working with external parties effectively
  • Strong communication skills and team player. Demonstrated capability of working closely with team members and delivering quality work under tight schedules
  • Candidates must exhibit conduct consistent with our guiding principles of integrity, partnership and high performance
  • Written and verbal fluency in an Asian language is a plus
