Job Description:About the Role:

The Analyst for Environmental Markets will be responsible for collecting and analyzing pricing information for regional compliance and voluntary carbon markets, as well as broader environmental markets. This role involves reporting on carbon market pricing and fundamentals, as well as issuing news alerts relevant to the carbon industry and clean air initiatives.

OPIS, a Dow Jones company, provides price transparency across the global fuel supply chain, including the Spot, Wholesale Rack and Retail markets. OPIS enables customers to buy and sell energy commodities with confidence with multi-platform access to accurate data, real-time news, powerful software and educational events. You Will:
  • Research and report on new developments in global carbon and environmental policies and programs.

  • Network and develop sources in the international carbon industry.

  • Accumulate spot market price transactions from industry participants via email, instant messaging and by phone. Verify the legitimacy of the transactions and adhere to OPIS pricing methodology to create daily price assessments.

  • Generate breaking and feature news alerts on carbon markets, clean energy and environmental sustainability initiatives.

  • Contribute to social media content, blog postings, industry analysis, and publish OPIS reports.

  • Represent OPIS at industry events. (Travel is expected)

You Have:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred, ideally with at least 2 to 3 years of working experience

  • Must have superior copy-editing skills and an ability to meet deadlines.

  • Applicant should be an analytical and motivated self-starter

  • Possess a demonstrated ability to interact successfully with customers and collaborate with colleagues across different business units.

  • Be able to work under tight deadlines and be detail-oriented.
