Role Summary
FXMM Operations Specialist is responsible for providing end-to-end operational support across Foreign Exchange (FX), Money Market (MM), Non-Deliverable Forward (NDF) and Precious Metals (PM) products. The role ensures timely and accurate processing of treasury transactions including Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS) while maintaining strong operational controls, managing settlement risks, resolving exceptions, and supporting business initiatives across multiple regional entities.
The successful candidate will work closely with Front Office (FO), internal operations teams, correspondent banks and external counterparties to ensure seamless trade lifecycle management from execution through settlement and post-settlement activities.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Lifecycle Management

  • Perform end-to-end operational support for FX, MM, NDF and PM transactions across multiple regional entities (Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam and Australia).

  • Validate trade details against supporting documentations/SWIFTs, ensuring accuracy of trade economics, settlement instructions (SSI) and counterparty (CP) information.

  • Process settlements within internal/market cut-off timings while adhering to Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and internal controls.

  • Perform NDF fixings accurately and within stipulated timelines.

  • Monitor transactions throughout the trade lifecycle from trade inception through final settlement and maturity.

  • Manage pre-settlement and post-settlement enquiries received through email, SWIFT and internal communication channels.

Settlement & Reconciliation

  • Perform timely reconciliation across systems to ensure completeness and accuracy.

  • Investigate reconciliation breaks and settlement exceptions, ensuring timely resolution.

  • Investigate operational issues, payment exceptions and settlement queries using established operational procedures.

  • Escalate operational risks promptly with sufficient supporting analysis and proposed resolution.

  • Perform daily operational control checks to ensure completeness of processing activities.

  • Manage brokerage reconciliations and payments within established timelines.

CLS Operations

  • Perform end-to-end CLS operational support, including trade matching, settlement monitoring, exception handling and control checks.

  • Investigate unmatched or alleged trades and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.

  • Escalate critical settlement risks in accordance with established procedures.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate actively in process improvement initiatives, projects, automations and system enhancements.

  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), implementation activities and post-implementation where required.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and, strengthen controls.

  • Contribute towards maintaining and improving operational documentation and SOP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Banking, Finance, Business or a related discipline.

  • Experience in Treasury Operations or similar roles will be advantageous.

  • Knowledge of FX, Money Markets, NDF, Precious Metals and CLS settlement processes is preferred.

  • Familiarity with SWIFT messaging, payment systems and settlement infrastructures is advantageous.

  • Experience with reconciliation platforms and treasury processing systems is a plus.
