Job Description

To support the positioning of MUFG as a lead bank in providing and anticipating key sector themes, insights on opportunities and solving strategic and financing challenges for our clients through the effective utilization of skill sets across corporate and investment banking, with a focus on debt financing/capital structuring and deal execution.

  • Successful candidates will proactively support deal origination and execution as well as regional client engagement activity across our Sector Coverage verticals. We are seeking high quality candidates to primarily support each of (1) Mobility, Consumer, Healthcare & Industrials; (2) Technology, Media and Telecommunications; and (3) Energy & Resources / Renewables, Utilities, Infrastructure & Transport. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to support across sector verticals as deal flow presents.
  • Sector Coverage undertakes key roles within Global Corporate and Investment Banking APAC, including (1) engaging senior client executives with thematic and scalable cross-sector insights; (2) originating event driven opportunities with local coverage, product and distribution partners as well as for leading origination and execution of corporate M&A debt financings; and (3) engaging with internal stakeholders to promote optimal risk-return outcomes across the portfolio. Successful candidates will be involved in all of these activities with particular focus on credit analysis, modelling/valuation, due diligence, loan structuring and debt financing/deal execution across APAC.
  • Drive execution of strategic financing solutions through: (i) supporting credit decision making with the development of financial models / analyses (including but not limited to comparable transactions / peer analysis) that enables better understanding and monitoring of deal risk, (ii) supporting day-to-day management of project and transaction administration, and (iii) supporting the preparation of marketing materials, transaction documentation, investor / management presentations, etc.
  • Successful candidates will also support Sector Coverage team with our origination to distribution engagement activity working closely with coverage bankers, Debt Capital Markets and product partners. A key element of the Mobility, Consumer, Healthcare & Industrials role will be to support our Partner Bank collaboration.
  • Carry out research to enable the delivery of sector expertise across sub-sectors including winners and losers, trends, potential deals.
  • Contribute to establishment of the MUFG profile as lead bank across our sector verticals (conference, branding etc.).

Job Requirements:

Educational qualification

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree.
  • For Analyst: Minimum 1 year’ experience in corporate finance or leverage finance as an analyst at a bank.
  • For Associate: Minimum 4 years’ experience in corporate finance or leverage finance as an analyst at a bank.

Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Highly driven and responsible, with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests.
  • Highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in financial analysis/modelling technical capabilities and due diligence analysis.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
