About the Role

iCapital is hiring an Alternative Investment Specialist APAC for iCapital’s distribution partnership with one of its large wealth management clients. This individual will jointly report to the Head of Client Solutions APAC based in Hong Kong and the Head of Alternative Investments Distribution at iCapital based in New York and be responsible for working with advisors, relationship managers, investment consultants, product specialists and 3rd party asset managers to grow alternative investment adoption. This role requires an experienced investment professional with alternative investment knowledge, exceptional relationship management, communication & influencing skills and strong sales experience.   


Responsibilities

  • Generate alternative investment product sales leads by supporting and collaborating with a network of advisors at our wealth management client.
  • Be an expert on the merits of alternative investments (private equity, private credit, real assets, hedge funds) and promote adoption of alternative investments offerings across our client’s wealth platform in the form of educational seminars as well as meetings with advisors and clients, where required.
  • Provide feedback on market trends and client appetite to support product launches and marketing strategy.
  • Work closely with our wealth management clients’ alternative investments team on new fund launches including organization and coordination of product launch calls with advisors, roadshows with 3rd party asset managers, client events and corresponding follow-up.
  • Work in close partnership with 3rd party asset management partners by offering advice on fundraising strategy and story building for their funds, and supporting the advisors to raise capital for offerings.  
  • Travel is required to meet advisors and their clients, where applicable across the region, and attend conferences and events as required.    
  • Maintain a strong discipline of CRM usage/maintenance (e.g., activity, advisor profiles, pipeline capture).    

 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience working within the alternative investment industry in a client facing capacity, ideally in a global wealth management organization as alternatives product specialist.  
  • Thorough experience and track record in working with high-net worth individuals and their advisors, and in supporting them in the promotion/distribution of private equity, private credit, real asset and hedge fund offerings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and follow a rigorous sales process.
  • Strong team player and ability to effectively manage key stakeholders at iCapital and at our wealth management client and its regional offices.
  • Preference given to candidates with CFA and/or CAIA.
  • Good knowledge of applicable securities laws and regulations required.
  • Local securities qualifications may be required depending on employee location and client need.
  • Fluency in Mandarin/Cantonese strongly preferred.

We believe the best ideas and innovation happen when we are together. Employees in this role will work in the office Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday.
