JOB TITLE: Account Manager, Joints

Brief description of role:

DePuy Synthes, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is currently recruiting an Account Manager for the Joint reconstruction portfolio. DePuy Synthes provides one of the most comprehensive orthopedics portfolios in the world. DePuy Synthes solutions, in specialties including joint reconstruction, trauma, craniomaxillofacial, spinal surgery and sports medicine, are designed to advance patient care while delivering clinical and economic value to health care systems worldwide.

The individual is responsible for building relationships with key accounts to achieve/exceed planned sales targets, and is responsible for developing long-term positive customer relationships to build customer loyalty and confidence in Johnson & Johnson as a preferred supplier.

The account manager will also be involved in strategic business planning, launching new products and devising solutions to meet healthcare needs of the patient. At this level, the role has increased responsibility including, but not limited to training of new team members etc. This job is eligible for sales incentives/sales commission.

Reporting line

This position reports to Sales Manager (Orthopaedics).

Job responsibilities
  • Achieve / exceed assigned account sales targets & gross profit contribution in key accounts.

  • Identify development opportunities and increase unit growth, profitability and market share for target customers.

  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through customer relationships, product support and services.

  • Support the professional education of surgeons through in-service education and training where appropriate.

  • Support sales, marketing and franchise teams and other Johnson & Johnson business/functional unit members through a cooperative and constructive approach to sales meetings, account development and the resolution of day-to-day business issues.

  • Continuously improve product knowledge and selling related skills to provide improved service to customers which differentiate Johnson & Johnson from competitors.

  • Collects, applies and disseminates all vital marketing information to support portfolio growth.

  • Develops customers' engagement and tactical plans in close partnership with marketing to ensure successful launches of new products.

  • Supports training of technical specialists and new team members to ensure efficient case coverage for assigned accounts.

  • Works closely with sales manager to implement annual/quarterly sales plan and essential changes required to achieve objectives.

  • Consistently promote and champion the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and compliance at all times, including our Global Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • University/Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

  • Proven experience over 5 years in medical devices sales.

  • Orthopaedic knowledge preferred, with experience in handling operational aspects.

  • Strong teammate with excellent interpersonal, communication & presentation skills.

  • Strong, demonstrated leadership skills, driven by a passion to excel in a customer-centric organization.

  • Business acuity and critical thinking skills
