It also improves analytical tools, documents methodologies, and automates data collection, processing, and reporting workflows.

Leads the creation and operation of Rio Tinto’s global second-line ethics and compliance assurance capability. Responsibilities include designing assurance frameworks, monitoring controls and risks, establishing governance, producing executive and Board-level reporting, leading a multidisciplinary global team, and overseeing compliance data, reporting systems, analytics, learning, and communications. The role partners with risk, internal audit, technology, and senior governance stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making.

Provides senior ethics and compliance advice to Asia commercial leaders, focusing on regulatory and integrity risks, control design and effectiveness, second-line monitoring, assurance, investigations, remediation, and risk insights. The role supports anti-bribery, third-party risk, conflicts, fraud, sanctions, and speak-up processes while building first-line capability and collaborating with Legal, Risk, Audit, People, Procurement, and operational teams.

Provide senior, independent privacy and data protection advice across Rio Tinto’s global operations. Lead complex privacy impact assessments, advise on AI and emerging technologies, manage incidents and regulatory matters, negotiate privacy contracts and international data transfers, and support major transactions. The role requires collaboration across Legal, Ethics, People, Cyber, Procurement and technology teams, while managing external counsel and developing practical global privacy governance positions.
