Job Responsibilities:
Role Summary
The Warranty Technician is responsible for troubleshooting the day-to-day warranty tickets, preparing reports, driving parts and cost related analysis.
Key Responsibilities
  • Understand customer warranty agreements and requirements.
  • Track incoming warranty returned parts ensuring that customer response timing requirements are being met.
  • Assist in swift implementation of containment actions, engaging necessary Warranty and Process Engineering or Manufacturing personnel.
  • Be part of a team for problem solving (8D, 5Y, Fishbone, Is/Is not, etc.) that may be shared with internal or external customers, and be capable to communicate to relevant functions into problem solving, such as Quality, Engineering etc
  • Work directly with customers to report, problem solve and help reduce warranty concerns with end users of Magna produced products.
  • Support Warranty Engineer(s) and Management in a warranty presentations for Management and customers to increase awareness, establish priorities and get buy-in on appropriate actions.
  • Support with customer charges trackers, analyze debit notes be a decision maker for those charges acceptance/rejections within requirements set
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of warranty claims, inspections, repairs, and related documentation.
  • Receive and process warranty claims from customers, ensure retention policies are followed
  • Support with any other assignments in Quality Assurance Laboratory

Key Qualifications/Requirements
Education
  • 3 year Electronics Engineering Technologist Diploma

Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant test technician (or higher) and/or hardware/software troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of OEM warranty systems including PRAS+, EWT, WIS, PartLink, PRTS is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with external customers and suppliers, occasionally in times of high visibility/increased pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating and collaborating with Customer and internal stakeholders, including design and engineering centers
  • Minimum intermediate level knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Must be able to read electrical schematics and determine proper functioning of the circuit under analysis.
  • Must be able to work independently and complete a high volume of work with little supervision.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to customer locations
