Technology risk is one of the most consequential risk disciplines in modern financial services and how it is communicated at board and executive level matters enormously. This role exists to make that communication count.
The VP / SVP, Technology Risk Insights owns the function’s risk reporting and analytical intelligence suite, including the Group Technology Risk Profile. It is a role for someone who combines genuine analytical rigor with the ability to tell a compelling story translating complex, multi-market risk data into clear narratives and visually sharp materials that drive decision-making at the highest levels of the bank. The role carries both a steady-state reporting mandate and an active transformation agenda, including the development of AI-powered analytics capabilities, and operates with a high degree of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Risk Reporting & Intelligence
• Own and continuously improve the Group Technology Risk Profile across DBS’s six core markets
• Produce risk intelligence outputs for senior leadership and board and executive risk committees - analytical, visually sharp, and built for senior decision-making
• Synthesise audit findings, incident data, key risk and control indicator trends, and thematic reviews into coherent narratives that focus attention where it matters most
• Drive continuous improvement to reporting methodology, data sourcing, and analytical frameworks
2. Storytelling & Visual Communication
• Bring genuine craft to how technology risk is visualised producing PowerPoint materials, dashboards, and executive briefings that are as well-designed as they are analytically sound
• Translate complex risk data into clear visual narratives tailored to the audience, whether board members, regulators, or the Chief Risk Officer
• Set a high bar for communication quality across all function outputs

3. Regulatory Reporting Support
• Support preparation of technology risk submissions to the Monetary Authority of Singapore and regulators across DBS’s footprint markets
• Prepare briefing materials to support senior leadership in regulatory meetings and examinations

4. AI Tooling & Transformation
• Lead the embedment of AI-powered reporting and analytics capabilities within the function
• Drive development of intelligent reporting tools that improve analytical consistency and reduce manual effort
• Champion best practice in risk intelligence, data visualisation, and AI-assisted analysis

5. Stakeholder Engagement
• Engage credibly with senior leadership, presenting findings with authority and handling challenge with confidence
• Provide analytical challenge to first-line risk assessments and control outputs
• Collaborate with Group Audit, Compliance, and first-line teams on data quality and completeness
Experience & Qualifications
• Experience in risk reporting, analytics, management consulting, or governance within financial services — a second-line background is not required, but strong risk literacy is essential
• Demonstrable track record producing high-quality outputs for senior and board-level audiences
• Exceptional PowerPoint and data visualisation skills - strong personal standards for clarity and design
• Outstanding written communication - precise, economical, and impactful across formats
• Comfortable engaging regulators, executive leadership, and board stakeholders with credibility and composure
• Genuine interest in AI and data-driven approaches to risk intelligence
• Degree-educated; postgraduate or professional qualification is an advantage
Competencies
• Analytical Excellence - evidence-based, well-structured, resistant to challenge
• Storytelling & Visual Craft - turns complexity into clarity; understands that how risk is communicated is as important as what is communicated
• Transformation Mindset - identifies how things can be done better and takes ownership of making it happen
• Autonomy & Ownership - sound independent judgement; accountable for outcomes
• Stakeholder Credibility - trusted at senior and regulatory level; composed in high-stakes settings
