This VP Relationship Manager role sits within the Private Markets Funds team of Financial Institutions Group and is responsible for supporting the growth of client coverage franchise across Private Markets Funds clients. The successful candidate will work closely with senior Relationship Managers to originate new relationships and deepen assigned existing relationships across Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Credit, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Secondaries, and Fund of Funds clients, while delivering relevant banking solutions across lending, cash management, treasury, trade finance, and hedging. The role requires a commercially driven individual with strong credit fundamentals, client coverage & relevant product experience, and the ability to collaborate across the Bank to deliver holistic solutions for clients.


Job Responsibilities


  • Proactively contribute to the achievement of team and individual budget targets by identifying new clients, products, and business initiatives within the private markets funds segment, including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Credit, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Secondaries, and Fund of Funds. 
  • Identify and originate new private market funds client relationships, with a strong focus on driving product cross-sell and deepening wallet share across the client franchise.
  • Develop and deepen relationships with key client groups, delivering a holistic solution including fund financing, cash management, trade finance, treasury services, and hedging solutions, while leveraging the bank’s One Bank network.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with fund finance and lending to private markets funds, including subscription line facilities, with the ability to work independently on origination, execution, and portfolio management
  • Apply strong credit knowledge to evaluate transaction structures and assess client creditworthiness in line with the bank’s credit policies
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of hedging instruments commonly used by private markets funds / financial sponsors, such as FX swaps & options, cross-currency swaps, interest rate swaps, and other relevant treasury risk management products, together with hands-on experience in ISDA documentation, including key commercial and credit-related clauses
  • Develop and maintain account plans to build strategic client relationships, taking into account client priorities, investment strategies, and market trends.
  • Maintain rigorous Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence standards, ensuring full compliance with regulatory obligations and internal requirements.
  • Stay informed on market trends, industry developments, and the competitive landscape to continuously refine client solutions and anticipate evolving industry needs.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in a Financial Institutions Group, fund finance, financial sponsors, or corporate banking coverage role within a bank or financial institution.
  • Prior experience covering funds, financial sponsors, or private markets funds clients is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, credit, and risk management skills, with the ability to assess complex financing structures and perform financial analysis.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external client stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of corporate banking products and services, including lending, cash management, treasury, trade finance, and hedging solutions.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, commercially minded, and eager to learn and grow within a dynamic client coverage role.
