Risk Management Group (RMG) is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk management and internal control frameworks. We provide independent review and challenge to the business to ensure that appropriate balance is considered in risk/return decisions. In addition, RMG is responsible for the monitoring and reporting on key risk issues of the Bank. To manage risk effectively and deliver strong financial performance, we invest significantly in people and infrastructure.
The role is within the Data and AI Risk team in RMG and will be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive risk management framework for Data and AI initiatives across the bank, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve Group Data Risk Management Policy and supporting standards
- Own Data Risk and Control Taxonomy across the Group
- Define and maintain Data Risk appetite, thresholds, and expected control outcomes
- Codify what good looks like for data risk management across businesses
- Translate regulatory expectations into clear, formal data risk requirements
- Drive alignment of standards and controls to data risk policy and appetite
- Provide clear interpretation of data risk requirements across teams
- Support articulation of data risk issues, incidents, and control gaps
- Ensure consistency in how data risks and controls are defined across the Group
Requirements:
- Experience (8+ years) in risk management, with a strong focus on Data risk.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices related to Data risk, and model risk management frameworks.
- Experience in Applied Machine Learnings Techniques will be favoured.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess risks effectively.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Accounting, Banking, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics). Relevant certifications such as DCAM (Data Management Capability Assessment Model, other Data Governance related certifications are preferred.
