Established in 2020, Riot Singapore is a game development studio focused on delivering great experiences to our players. We partner with our Los Angeles headquarters on game development for League of Legends, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, and 2XKO. Riot Singapore is seeking talented, passionate Rioters to build games that make it better to be a player.

Visual designers at Riot Games seek to craft the best player experiences through their knowledge of systemic design, graphic design, and interactive design. Designers collaborate with cross disciplinary teams and act as both artistic and design problem solvers.

As a Visual Designer (Contract) on the Teamfight Tactics team, you will develop and implement visuals and UI in the game engine. We are looking for a UI Designer with a strong technical background and a passion for crafting seamless player experiences. You will work at the intersection of art, design, and implementation, creating UI elements, 2D art, and motion-based visual systems, including  building and hands-on implementation within a game engine environment. 

You’ll collaborate closely with designers, engineers, producers, and QA through the entire production pipeline. You understand how visual design decisions interact with engine constraints, and you’re comfortable optimizing assets, troubleshooting implementation issues, and maintaining high visual quality across PC and mobile.
Please note that Riot Games does not offer relocation packages for this position. You need to be able to work legally in Singapore, without Riot Games’ sponsorship, to be considered.

Responsibilities:
  • Produce best-in-class UI assets, visual wrappers, promotional content, and event-themed visuals for the TFT around-game experience, across various distribution systems in TFT.
  • Collaborate with motion/FX teams to define interactive states, transitions, and visual behaviors.
  • Build, integrate, and implement UI and 2D visual assets in the game engine.
  • Work with engineers to align on UI system architecture, asset formats, memory/performance budgets, and technical constraints.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve visual implementation bugs, optimize UI performance, visual quality, and responsiveness across multiple platforms. and DPIs. 
  • Own source file setup, naming, versioning, and optimization pipelines for engine-ready assets.
  • Work collaboratively with art leads, producers, engineers and QA in the production process from end-to-end and ensure all the assets meet brief requirements and adhere to technical specifications for engine implementation.
  • Participate in design reviews, share best practices, support the development of templates, and documentation to improve the UI workflow and implementation processes.
  • Work with production to plan workload, track deliverables, and maintain asset libraries for ongoing feature development.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2 - 4 years of professional experience as a Visual Designer, UI Artist/Designer, or similar digital art role.
  • Hands-on experience contributing to publishing consumer-facing digital content, product launch, or entertainment property through the craft of visual communication design.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement UI/2D assets in a modern game engine.
  • Portfolio showing visual design fundamentals: typography, color, layout, graphic design, iconography, motion basics.
  • Solid understanding of systems design for UI, screen composition, usability, and readability in games.
  • Experience designing interfaces on PC and Mobile.
  • Proficiency with Adobe CC visual design tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator. Figma and any modern game engine UI systems and tools.
  • Strong organisation skill and ability to maintain libraries of source files, manage assets, and work within structured pipelines.
  • Familiarity with asset management, version control (e.g., Perforce, Git), and data-driven UI systems.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience building UI systems for live-service games.
  • Comfort working with shaders, material graphs, or simple VFX in a game engine.
  • Knowledge of League of Legends / Teamfight Tactics art style and IP.
  • Experience with marketing or branding visuals for games.
  • Experience in UI motion graphics and animation is a plus.
  • Understanding of best practices for engine-optimized assets (texture compression, atlasing, batch-friendly layouts, etc.).
