Purpose of the Role:

This is a regional product manager position which will support the Head of Department (Trade and Supply Chain Finance Product, APAC) principally along two lines of responsibility (Product Management and Business Management) as the Subject Matter Expert for the following product suite:

  • Risk Participation

  • Documentary Trade  

Job Responsibilities

Product Management

  • Lead New Product/Product Variation/One-off Deals Assessments for Singapore branch.

  • Manage functional stakeholders at HQ, Regionally and In-Country;

  • Strong acumen in developing product schematics;

  • Analyse end-to-end transactional workflow to ensure processes are streamlined and efficient and

  • Ensure that product is developed in line with all relevant Bank policies.

  • Support local Product Managers in APAC branches (outside Singapore branch) for New Product/Product Variation/One-off Deals Assessments to ensure consistency in our product offering regionally.

  • Provide thought leadership for the development and promotion of new product capabilities to:

  • Improve operational efficiencies;

  • Reduce Operational Risks;

  • Provide new revenue streams and

  • Enhance MUFG’s global reputation in the Transaction Banking space

  • Provide product advisory for proprietary and third-party trade channels, technology, and platforms that the bank is looking on-board.  

Business Management

Provide support to the Head of Department on the following managerial activities:

  • Responsible for assisting to set the strategic direction and drive the initiation, development, implementation, and management of the suite of products that you are in-charge of.

  • Manage and keep track of periodic product performance metrics across APAC:

    • Revenue tracking of recently commercialized products

    • Provide analysis and conduct remediation of non-performing products

    • Conduct product profitability and RORA analysis

    • Become the centre of expertise on product mapping and profitability performance.

  • Articulate and translate complex ideas into compelling graphics for presentations.

  • Conduct product/market gap analysis: Synthesise client and market input to assess market opportunities and assess/prioritise associated gaps to close through product development.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or similar fields

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in financial services or banking industries

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing Risk Participation products or minimum 5 years’ experience in trade sales in Transaction Banking.  

  • Experience in product/sales in FI Trade Loans will be an added advantage.

  • Experience working in China or directly dealing in Transaction Banking business in China will be advantageous.

  • Exceptional analytical abilities to interpret voluminous data and deciphering the findings in clear written papers, verbal presentations and visuals.

  • Administrative experience is desirable – must be highly organized and able to adhere to deadlines.

  • Strong work ethic and able to multi-task.

  • Ability to use creativity for problem solving.

  • Thrive in fast-paced working environment while being meticulous.
