Job Description

Team Summary

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is seeking a Vice President, Head of Data Science, Asia Pacific to lead and scale Visa’s regional data science organization and drive AI‑first, high‑impact outcomes for clients across the region.

The Asia Pacific data science team is located across multiple markets, with a clear mandate to evolve capabilities, operating models and impact as analytics and AI become core to Visa’s client strategy.

This role is responsible for translating Visa’s unique data assets and advanced analytics capabilities into material client impact and commercial outcomes, working in close partnership with VCA consultants, Account Executives, and regional leadership. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of consulting, analytics, AI, and commercial execution, helping shape how VCA delivers value in the AI age.

The role reports to the SVP, Head of VCA, AP and Visa’s SVP, Chief Data Officer.

What a VP, Head of Data Science, AP does at Visa:

Client Impact & Delivery

  • Lead the delivery of high‑impact analytics, data science and AI solutions addressing clients’ most critical business challenges.
  • Ensure solutions are AI‑first, scalable and embedded into client decision‑making.
  • Act as a senior thought partner to clients, shaping problem statements and ensuring delivery excellence and measurable impact.

Commercial Leadership & P&L Accountability

  • Partner with the broader VCA leadership team to deliver overall VCA P&L outcomes in Asia Pacific.
  • Work with Consulting leaders and AEs to scope, price, and close analytics‑ and AI‑led opportunities contributing to full engagement economics.
  • Drive commercialization of analytics and AI capabilities to improve scalability and repeatability.

Partnership with Consulting & Sales

  • Build a strong operating model with consultants and AEs to deliver integrated client engagements.
  • Support go‑to‑market efforts including client pitches, workshops and account planning.
  • Enable teams with analytics and AI storytelling, assets and use cases.

Data Science, AI & Thought Leadership

  • Provide regional leadership in data science and AI techniques with a focus on business application.
  • Shape and execute the AP data science roadmap aligned with Visa’s Data & AI strategy.
  • Translate innovation in tools, partners and talent into tangible outcomes.

People & Capability Building

  • Lead and evolve a multi‑market data science organization.
  • Attract, develop and retain top analytics and AI talent.
  • Modernize delivery models while maintaining strong governance and risk discipline.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Senior leadership experience in data science, advanced analytics, and AI with demonstrated client and commercial impact.
  • Background in consulting‑led, client‑facing environments with strong executive influence.
  • Strategic leadership mindset, with the ability to set vision, inspire teams, and shape enterprise‑level outcomes.
  • Experience contributing to broader business P&L outcomes across consulting, sales, and delivery.
  • Proven experience leading large, geographically distributed teams.
  • Ability to bridge technical depth with business outcomes at executive level.
  • Experience operating in a regional or global role; international experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in payments, financial services, or other data‑rich industries is advantageous.
