Purpose of the role

The role will support the Head of OOA-Operations Advisory Department and Head of Global Business & IT Solutions Team in overseeing and managing the IT projects within APAC (excluding Japan and China). As a member of the project PMO, the incumbent will collaborate with the Operation Function and IT Function in Tokyo and APAC Offices to drive the implementation of systems that contribute to the standardization and simplification of operations.
 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Setting the direction and drive the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver standardization & transformation in Operations with counterparties from Tokyo and APAC offices
  • Lead the development of divisional strategic plan.
  • Manage the costs within allocated budget.
  • Balance the overall cost efficiency with long term strategic goals to transform overall operational operating environment.
  • Effective collaborate with Head Office, Business stakeholders, to promote 'standardization of global operations and systems' to transform the Target Operating Model for Operations in the region to better support the business and our clients.
  • Lead the partnership with Functional Heads and Processing Hubs to develop and implement efficient Target Operating Model.
  • Deepen the technological adoption to enhance operational efficiency through close collaboration with System Office globally and regionally.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members to develop the overall competency of OOA.
  • Manage team performance and rewards of OOA.
  • Plan, implement, promote and monitoring of operations projects and initiatives that enhance the operations quality (accuracy, stability and productivity) and ensure alignment with all relevant regulations. 
  • Identify and address operational risks and inefficiencies.
  • Implement and promote controls that mitigate the Bank’s operational risk.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in corporate banking industry or system project management
  • Minimum 1 year project management skills to manage multiple regional projects within timeline and budget.
  • Minimum JLPT N1 Certification (or equivalent language capabilities/ proficiency) is required to effectively communicate with counterparties from the Operations and IT function across Tokyo and APAC offices, supporting system implementation initiatives
  • Familiar with business technical terminology and jargons in operations and system related functions within the banking industry.
  • Sound knowledge in the internal working of product offices and/or client management departments.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively.
  • Able to influence stakeholders for better outcomes.
  • Proficient in operations and products such as Deposit, Remittance, Trade Finance, Loans and Treasury.
  • Degree qualified
