UX Designer (Fixed Term Contract)

Maker Lab supports clients across technology, entertainment, financial services and the payments industry. We’re looking for dynamic individuals to join our team and support our amazing clients in the payments industry.

As a UX Designer, you will be partnering across a wide range of departments alongside your team of creatives to elevate the concepts of UX designs for mobile apps with a deep understanding of what the user wants.

Role: 

  • Lead the design and execution of intuitive and elegant interaction models for complex digital products.
  • Develop and deliver high-fidelity, interactive prototypes that clearly articulate design concepts and user flows to stakeholders and development teams.
  • Ensure a relentless focus on the quality of execution, meticulously refining design details from concept through to final implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to ensure the design vision is translated into a high-quality, functional user experience.
  • Champion user-centered design principles and advocate for design excellence across the organization.
  • Focus primarily on the craft and implementation aspects of design, bringing concepts to life with precision and artistry.
  • Translate complex product requirements and user needs into tangible design solutions, leading the process from initial sketches and user flows to high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes in Figma.
  • Drive the design of new features within a fast-paced, agile environment, expertly exploring and refining concepts based on collaborative team feedback and data-driven user research insights.
  • Empower engineering teams by providing clear, detailed design specifications and all necessary assets to ensure the high-quality, pixel-perfect execution of the final product.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader UX team to ensure all designs align seamlessly with our global design system and established patterns, maintaining a cohesive user experience across all platforms.
  • Partner with UX Researchers to prepare and optimize design artifacts for usability studies, ensuring that concepts are effectively structured to elicit valuable and actionable user feedback.

You:

  • BA/BS degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in the industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in product design or UX
  • Demonstrated experience leading design for the Android platform, with a proven ability to adapt and scale user journeys effectively for responsive web interfaces.
  • Proficient in building and implementing designs that strictly adhere to established design systems and component libraries, ensuring product-wide consistency and efficiency.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering and design teams to produce a full range of design deliverables, including detailed user flows, wireframes, polished UI mockups, and high-fidelity interactive prototypes.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills and - ideally - fluent in another Asian language to cover projects across APAC.
