About The Digital Factory

The Digital Factory was launched in July 2017 in Paris as a fully-fledged internal digital company whose mission is to accelerate the digital transformation of Thales and its customers. It now already hosts more than 230 experts in digital technologies (Cloud, Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity etc) and methods (design thinking, lean start-up, agile software development) to develop innovative products in close collaboration with future users.

The Digital Factory delivers first versions of new digital services in a few months to quickly test operational and business value, through Minimum Viable Products (MVP). With many MVPs already delivered in domains such as air traffic management, avionics equipment repair, drone operations, airport passenger experience, maritime traffic, metros maintenance, the Digital Factory allows Thales’s customers to quickly experiment new solutions at a rapid rate to improve their operations and customers experience.

We are looking to further strengthen our design team in Singapore to provide our business lines and customers a user focussed edge when delivering products and solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the projects; by collaborating and modelling the user experience of various business-to-business (B2B) systems and solutions from within Thales’ business lines and beyond (such as joint labs with external customers).
  • Design and facilitate user research studies to uncover needs and pain points using various methods (user interviews, surveys, desk research, card sorting, user testing, tree-testing etc) .
  • Drive co-creation of archetypes and research outcomes (user persona, user journey, experience maps, wireframes, etc).
  • Design the UI with best practices and rigorously validate them with end-users.
  • Collaborate with the product owners to refine user stories and with the developers to implement the UI.
  • Contribute to the design system, alpha style guides and liaise with the design system owners to ensure alignment with best practices.

Requirements:

  • UX designer with a keen focus on user centricity who can take a product from an initial conception to the designed solution
  • At least 2 to 3 years into the practice of user experience design 
  • Laser focused on the user’s needs and excel at setting up cadences and practices to regularly gather their feedback
  • Open-minded and you enjoy seeking feedback from your teammates, customers and stakeholders, so he/she may benefit from them
  • Prefer to design collaboratively with an iterative mindset, and engage your stakeholder to do the same 
  • A good knowledge and practice of Design Thinking &  UX methodology 
  • Already evolved in (or willing to immerse into) an agile and scrum environment
  • Able to be autonomous and have the know how to adapt quickly and drive change for the better 
  • Able to bloom in a team and like working in a collaborative environment 
  • Agree that data over opinion is a healthy and an important mentality
  • Willing to put in the miles to get the data to inform your decisions
  • Adept at tools of facilitation, wire-framing and prototyping (Figma, Miro Etc.)
