What you'll do...Role summary:
Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. The Walmart+ engineering team develops scalable mobile platforms and enhances membership services to improve shopping experiences for millions. What you'll do:
  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
  • Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
  • Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
  • Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components to support automation and intelligent features.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and track success metrics.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to deliver scalable and resilient platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and other programming languages, with experience in software design patterns and API design.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
  • Experience in platform engineering, infrastructure tooling, and AI/ML integration to build intelligent automation solutions.
  • Skilled in conducting design reviews and software prototyping to ensure quality and alignment with architectural standards.
  • Ability to apply data-driven decision making to optimize engineering processes and product outcomes.
  • Effective collaborator and mentor, fostering technical growth and driving engineering excellence across teams.

Sunnyvale, California US-11349: The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00
Bentonville, Arkansas US-10735: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
