Translator / Interpreter

Role Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and professional Translator cum Interpreter role to join our growing team in Japan. This is a new role, designed to support our expanding presence and operations in the Japanese market. Reporting directly to the VP, the Translator will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and culturally appropriate translation and interpretation of all Dynatrace materials, including technical documents, marketing content, and internal communications.
Key Responsibilities:

• Translate technical documents, marketing materials, and internal communications from English to Japanese and vice versa with high accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Proofread and edit translations to maintain a high standard of quality.
• In external meetings with partners and clients, quickly comprehend technical and business-related content, speakers' words, abbreviations, or specific expressions, and provide smooth consecutive interpretation.
• In internal meetings (e.g. All-hands meetings, internal business meeting) accurately convey the meaning, tone, and context of the presenter's or speaker's original message, and provide consecutive interpretation with high accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Collaborate with various departments including Sales, Marketing, and Product Management to ensure the quality and consistency of translations.
• Assist in developing localization strategies and best practices.
• Work closely with the VP to support business initiatives and communication efforts.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices in translation and localization.
• Perform other translation and language support duties as required.

What will help you succeed

• Native-level fluency in Japanese and excellent proficiency in English.
• Proven experience in translation including consecutive interpretation, preferably within the technology/software industry.
• Comes with experience in interpreting professional business meetings and materials which involve converting spoken and printed language statements from one language to another (English / Japanese).
• Strong understanding of technical terminology and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality translations under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with translation software and tools is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
